Loved it! Great, fresh seafood. We stumbled upon it using TripAdvisor. There is no indoor dining so sitting outside early April was chilly but worth it. The portions were huge - I definitely could have shared with someone as it was way too much food for me. The fish & chips was the best I have ever tasted - the scallops fresh, clam strips tasty and shrimp was succulent. The NE chowder was good, however; didn’t have much stuff (potatoes, clams, etc) in it. It was mostly broth but that could just be how she scooped it out. The hot lobster roll was sensational and had a ton of meat. It’s a bit far for us as we live in NJ but will definitely be back anytime we are in the area!

Love going to Captain Scott's Lobster Dock. It's located by the Thames River in New London and has outdoor covered seating areas. Go on a sunny day and bask in the warmth, enjoy the nearby boats and delight in a chowder and a lobster roll. Life is good!

Great place to bring the family for lobsters!

Sit at picnic tables- some under a canopy roof- where the kids can see the ducks in the water and the seagulls wheeling in the air

Lovely outdoor dining in the fresh air in a quiet cove with boats placidly floating nearby.

Great summer experience

Captain Scott's is worth the drive from the upper part of the state. My favorite is the buttery lobster roll, which comes with a generous amount of lobster compared to a lot of other seafood restaurants in the area. The onion rings are good but I'm not too keen on the bumpy fries, which is why I gave the 4 star rating.

The atmosphere is great and you get to meet some really nice people out there, especially while waiting in the long line. It's better to get there around 4ish because it can get pretty crowded during dinner hours.

They also have live bands, which brings even more people out but I don't think it's worth standing in line for 45 minutes to order food. So, from now on I'll check their website to see if anyone is performing that evening.

This a casual place that has picnic tables and serves simple beach food: fresh fried seafood and Lobster rolls hot or cold. You order at the window. If they have the grilled fish taco special get it, yum.
