But if that's not your thing, today's lunch special, among many, many choices, was a sandwich with avacado instead of mayonnaise - absolutely wonderful. The outside deck on the back overlooking the river may not last long after October, but one never knows.

This is a cute coffee shop and restaurant. Lots of memorabilia on the walls. Coffee is fantastic. I had the soup and half hummus sandwich. It was way better than expected. The baked goods looks great, too, but I didn't get anything since the portions sizes on food items are pretty large.

This is a hip cafe playing music to fit the mood, with good food, and lots of comfortable seating. Make sure to stop in when you’re in the area.

Muddy Waters is crammed with fun things to look at on the walls. There's a variety of places at which to sit and eat, and you may play a variety of games while eating, or waiting for the food which you order at a counter, to be brought to you. There are a good amount of vegetarian and healthy choices. We ordered the veggie burger. It comes with the works, but the patty doesn't stay together. The patty wasn't the most sumptuous I've ever tasted, but it was good. Everything looked and sounded good, including all the coffee creations, and baked goods. It was a very popular spot, especially with the cadets when the US Coast Guard Eagle came into port!

Call it whatever you want but the couches and chairs were not neat and at times outright dirty. The atmosphere of shabby chic is not an excuse, coffee was overbrewed and food average. Service was not personal and very fast.
Overall, I will not go there again, as the whole experience was not an appetizing one for me.
