The staff is so friendly and helpful they make you feel very comfortable and welcome. I have been there in the summer and of course its great but do your self a favor and visit for the holiday season. This inn is truly 5 star in every way!!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights over the summer. Our room was gorgeous, spotless, and very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the living room, taking in the views, and catching up with family members--it is a lovely common area. Breakfast was simple, but delicious and service was friendly throughout our stay. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed here for 2 nights (our 3rd year in a row) and, as always, had a wonderful time. We stayed in Room 3, a seaside facing king with fireplace, and absolutely loved it. It was unseasonably mild weather so we sat outside on our balcony and watched the sunset. So beautiful! The Inn is spotless, the innkeepers are very nice, and the town is quaint and friendly. We always enjoy the nightly wine and cheese. Breakfast is not elaborate, but fine for us. Eat at Milagro if you love Mexican food. That place is awesome. Enjoy an evening cocktail at Skipper's Dock, right behind the Inn. Visit the new winery in town, Saltwater Vineyards, for a fun wine tasting experience. If you're looking for a place where you can go to de-stress, stay at the Inn at Stonington.

Visited the Inn during the second weekend in November. A little chilly but the town is great for a brisk early morning walk. A lovely breakfast was waiting for me when I returned--good coffee, great breads and muffins and fruit--just what I needed. Met up with my husband who preferred the gym downstairs. My friends and I spent a lot of time in the upstairs room that was available to all guests but we seemed to be the only ones up there--great views of the harbor and the sunset and a perfect place for cocktails before heading out. Wine and cheese was served each evening at 6--added bonus. Good restaurants nearby in walking distance and a short ride into Mystic. The rooms all have fireplaces which was a nice added touch--beds were super comfortable. Plan on visiting when it is warmer to enjoy some outdoor dining and sitting on the porch.

Room Tip: Although every room has it's own charm, a room facing the harbor offers better views.

The Inn felt like a small boutique hotel/B&B. The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We stayed in #7 which had a lovely view and very well kept. We spent 2 nights and decided to forgo the continental breakfast the first morning. We walked to Noah's and had a yummy breakfast with the locals. The town itself has interesting shops and restaurants. We visited a few wineries close by and took a short drive to Mystic. We were so impressed with how friendly everyone was. Smiles and warm greetings go a long way. We will definitely return.

When we arrived at the Inn at Stonington we were met by unbelievably good smells of home baking. We just about floated to our room, and were definitely looking forward to breakfast the next morning. The staff that greeted us and dealt with us throughout our stay were exceptionally helpful and friendly: nothing was ever too much trouble.
We stayed in room 7, then room 9 as it was fairly booked out, both look out to the river and had balconies. Room 7 was the larger of the two but 9 had a larger balcony. Both were decorated in a similar style and had enormous marble bathrooms. It was a wonderful retreat.
If you cant get a seaview room there is a lounge room on the third floor for guests to enjoy with
spectacular water views and comfortable lounges as well as one on the first floor.
It is close to all the local eateries and shops, and the walks around the town are full of absolutely delightful homes many historical and many just quaint.
Breakfast was just as yummy as the smells the afternoon before promised. There is also a
"happy hour" each evening in the bar from 6-7pm with complimentary wine and cheese which was a great way to start the evening.
We felt our four day stay was exceptional and we would thoroughly recommend staying here especially for a special getaway.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are the pick but all are of a high standard and common lounge areas are lovely.

My husband, myself, and my father-in-law stayed at the Inn for our son's wedding. From the moment we walked in we felt the warmth and charm of this magnificent Inn. My father-in-law who traveled extensively in his lifetime said he was so grateful he got to experience this wonderful Inn. He said he felt he was in an old friend's home and they were happy to see him.

The staff was outstanding, we hated for the week-end to be over, can't wait to return. Staying there made the whole week-end magical. We can't tell enough people about this wonderful place.

Room Tip: There are street side and water sides, even though ours was street side it was still wonderful.
