This is one of the best bakery in the state, the doughnuts are little jelly filled clouds of fluffy goodness, the bread is perfect for any meal from simple to elegant you can't go wrong

Very chaotic...poorly arranged, no matter where you stand you can't get out the way of other. I ordered the breakfast and I also tried their donuts. The breakfast wasn't anything to write home about. The donuts had very little filling not worth going back for.
The overall appearance...it's not a cafe, not a dinner but best characterized as a spot. Try it for yourself but you made need to get it to go...limited seating.

I have been going to them since the 1950s. The bread is exactly the same rich and thick, a piece is dense enough for a meal by itself. My cousin refers to it as "roots' bread because it reflects back to the bread our ancestors brought from the old world. When I visit relatives in other states I bring quite a few with me. The surprise is in the new location is they added a few sandwiches to the menu. It is amazing to have a fresh sandwich with the roll still hot from being made. The tradition is still alive and all their products reflect this. It may cost 9 dollars for a large 4 lb. loaf of white rye but you will get more than your money's worth.

Brooklyn Baking has finally closed its historic bakery in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Waterbury, but its bread lives on in this bakery-plus-pizza place, conveniently located in the same shopping center as Frankie's, Aldi's, and various other shops.
If you grew up on Eastern European rye breads, the light rye will melt your heart. The pumpernickel is pretty good, too. I buy several loaves at a time, eat way too much of the first loaf at one sitting, freeze some, and give the rest to family and friends,

We stopped for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised with the food. The bacon egg and cheese sandwiches were yummy and the donuts top notch-much better than the fast food places.
