Alors. It's good. It's the old Blue Lemon and now it's back as a French restaurant. It's a classic take. It's a little adult. We took the kids. Maybe don't. The food is all the usual steak frites, moules, canard. It's done very well. Fries are delicious. Between the appetizers and main course there are lots of good choices. Plenty of fish. The desserts are good. Chocolate mousse is a classic. Service is good. Gets busy and lively quickly. This is a really good choice. If you've been to France it is strangely familiar , if you haven't it could take you there. Sensible good grown up French eating. Not a budget choice. Tres bon.

We booked a table for seven at Le Penguin to celebrate my mother’s birthday – a very important one. Some of us, including her, had flown over from the UK, and the restaurant’s menu and prices suggested that it was equal to this significant occasion. We had to choose between a 6pm or a 8.30pm booking (we opted for the later time) and put down a $350.00 deposit ($50 per head) in case of late cancellation or no show.

We arrived at the allotted time to be told our table was not yet available. The 6pm party had arrived late, apparently, and were still eating. There was no apology or "have-a-drink-on-us-while-you-wait". Although we had specifically asked for a quiet corner, our still-occupied table was right in the middle of a very noisy dining room, crammed with as many tables as they could squeeze in.

We asked how long this was going to take, and the owner immediately turned hostile and aggressive, as if we, not they, were at fault. When hostility turned into plain rudeness, we left. With my mother now quite upset, we were lucky enough, on a Saturday night, to find another restaurant where we were welcomed with the courtesy so noticeably absent at Le Penguin.

Later, we noticed in other reviews that management had turned nasty when items on the bill were questioned. Perhaps they should find a line of work to which they are better suited.

We could present the actual facts in response but they won't matter in your universe of 'alternate facts'! Your proclamation, at 833pm for an 830pm reservation, " I am a blogger and if we are not seated now, it won't be pleasant for you", is enough of an indication of your boorish behavior. Dining out is meant to be a pleasant experience and we are glad you chose to dine elsewhere, not ruining it for our guests that were enjoying themselves. The fact that a person in your group apologized for your behavior TWICE says it all. And, there was NEVER a charge to your credit card...another alternate fact. We are in the customer service business, our goal is to make ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY! But Alas, with some, it is literally impossible.

This past weekend we met friends on a Saturday evening and Wesport is half way between us but there had not been a fun and good restaurant there for quite some time. We tried LePenguin and loved it. The atmosphere and décor were really fun and the food was quite good. Ant to top it off our waiter was a pleasure and we had a lovely conversation with the manager as we were leaving. It was relaxed, fun, and we enjoyed spending time there and this will become a regular for us I think.

Ate here with friends on Christmas Eve. Restaurant was very festive, and the food was delicious. Great place for a special occasion meal. (And the parking is easy).

We go to dinner with friends primarily to socialize with them. The noise level at dinner was intolerable. The food and service were fine. But we will not return.
