Beautiful beach make sure to get there early it is a very popular beach. Lots of shells on the beach. Very neat setting as the bathhouse sits in trees and a board walk takes you through it and too the beach. Even though it is a popular place there is plenty of beach space to spread out on. Don't forget to look for the tortoise under your vehicle before you move

Its a little bit of drive back into the beaches, but well worth it. The fabulous baby powder sand is wonderful. There were great shells to be found. The beach was a bit crowded but still enjoyable. I wish the water would have been clearer.

This is a gorgeous beach preserve! Nature boardwalks and trails, guided kayak tours in the estuary, a nice educational pavilion staffed with volunteer docents, park rangers accessible patroling the preserve. It can get pretty crowded during Season so parking spaces fill up early. I think parking is $8.00, non-refundable, for the entire day. I live close enough to ride my bike in and unlike some parks, such as Carl Johnsons/Lovers Key, there's no charge.

We happened upon this beach, and, wow, were we lucky! This beach is a treasure. We loved the clear, calm water, the sandbar, the assortment of shells, and the nature trail. This beach is far from the throngs of tourists and makes you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. While there we saw tortoise, sea stars, snails and crabs. The water was gorgeous. The sand was so soft. The beach was almost empty. Be sure to have a cart with you to bring your things down from the parking to the beach, if you will be taking the nature trail.

Barefoot Beach preserve is a nice spot right by the beach.

It costs $8 to get in. There is a big parking lot, but it does fill up on busy days.

When you walk the trails, listen for rustling in the bushes. That could be a tortoise. The trail has marking posts showing some of the plants along the way. There is beach access along the way.
