Did the behind the scenes tour and learned how they do their rescue and rehabs. Staff was phenomenal! Got to see Winter from Dolphins Tale. This Aquarium is no way near the size of, say, the New England Aquarium, but that wasn't the explanation goin in. We learned a lot form the personal one on one time each staff member spent with us and got to witness the ground breaking for there new rehab section being built! These volunteers do amazing work and I found it a great stop in on our visit to Clearwater.
The work done here is so important to our marine life in this area. This is a great stop.

I have never been there previously but arranged my daughter’s birthday at this venue. Party coordinator Doreen was so involved with her job and ensured that all our guests had wonderful time there.
We could see winter and hope in action as well as other presentation with Wally ( Otter). Nicholas ( 2 month old dolphin) was a major attraction for party guests through windows.
Overall I am happy that we arranged Birthday party there which matches our goal to enjoy and support good cause.

They also have started dedicated Christmas activities but we could not experience much.

Only issues right now may be about parking which is far and high charges for it. Hope to see everything well setup once ongoing renovations gets done.

I definitely feel that the name should have "rescue" or "hospital" in it because it's not your typically "aquarium". For the price...it wasn't worth it but I always like donating to wildlife

Fun to learn about Winter and the amazing work these people too. Majority of the exhibit takes place in the building where Winter is kept. I was not familiar with the movies about Winter but you sure will be after visiting here. Heavy promotion on the movie and where everything was setup and etc. i touched a manatee. Saw an otter. Garage parking is expensive. You are allowed to park on the street in the area for free. I spent 1 hour 15 minutes here. Gigantic gift shop offering stuffed animals, shirts and numerous other items. You can grab something to eat if you need to. I gave 4 stars, not 5, because there was no direction as to what was taking place when. They have TVs you can see a schedule of events and where they take place but no one around to ask for direction. Maybe hand out a schedule with a map with your ticket.

Thank you for visiting us at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Gracie; we're glad to see that you enjoyed your visit! We're sorry to see that our presentation schedule was a bit tough to follow. We do offer a map and written presentation schedule to complement the digital signage throughout the facility - they are handed out at the ticketing window, or available to pick up in the Guest Services office in the second level. We hope to see you again in the future as we move forward with our exciting expansion plan!

We had so much fun visiting. The staff was so informative. We learned so much. There was a presentation ever 30 mins which we loved. I wish we could have gone into the rehab areas though. I definitely recommend.

We are so happy to see that you enjoyed your visit to Clearwater Marine Aquarium! Due to the nature of our work, access to our outdoor rehabilitation area is restricted to our team and the few guests on our daily behind the scenes tours, but visitors are always able to see the team in action through the windows! We appreciate your support of our work and mission very much!

We have been here many times over the years and this time we brought our friends with us. We stayed almost 3 hours and we had great interactions with staff learning about the animals and their history.

Having seen Winter many times before I was sad to see how she has deteriorated her shape has changed and she has slowed down looks as is if she is struggling.

The staff without exception were friendly and helpful with a clear passion for returning animals to the wild.its great to see the building work going on to improve this excellent facility will come back when it’s open.

We went as we wanted to see Winter from “Dolphin Tale” fame. The facility is small and not glamorous. It’s fundamentally a rescue and marine hospital. But the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the animals and you can tell they care so much about the welfare of all their charges. My two kids (aged 12 and 11) did the Dolphin carer experience and loved it! It was nice to see the dolphin choosing to interact with them and then going off and doing its own thing, before coming back. It wasn’t a “forced” interaction and that’s what sets this facility apart. It’s set in a beautiful location too. We had a fantastic day there and would definitely recommend.

This place focuses on rehabilitation of animals so it’s not got a ton of animals, but what they do have is really interesting and well done. The highlight is the dolphins. Now that I’m home and have watched the Dolphin’s Tale movie, I kind of wish I had seen that before going, but it’s fun in either order. Time it so you can see the trainers working with them. It’s also neat to see the divers in the large tank and to touch the rays in the tank that’s set up for that. It’s well worth a couple of hours here!

Our family of five had a wonderful afternoon at the aquarium! It was a perfect way to spend an dreary day at the beach. We found the staff to be friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. We were surprised by the variety of animals (our favorites were Walle and Nicholas). We attended several informative presentations and we all learned a lot. Our kids found very reasonably priced souvenirs at the gift shop. We look forward to returning after their extensive renovations are complete in a few years.
