“Wonderful staff & food, AC unacceptable.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 March 2012

Everyone was so kind and helpful. The food was good. The price was very reasonable. The view was mostly of the roof, with the beach far away. The air-conditioning was dreadful, either freezing and loud on "high" or hot on "off." It was recently renovated, but the AC in the rooms needs to be replaced before I would ever go back.

Room Tip: If you can afford it get one of the 16 oceanfront rooms. But, check the AC first.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my wife and our 3 daughters (13, 15 & 17) . The pool is not that big but the spacious and clean beach more than makes-up for it. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and defintely proved large enough for our short stay. We had a roll away bed brought in for our oldest daughter (it's nothing like the old style fold-ups) and she said it was super comfortable. The staff at the hotel were especially great and we would not hesitate to stay here again when back in Cocoa Beach.

We stayed Friday and Saturday night on the Executive Floor - everything was spotless and we had a nice view of the beach. They had a bottle of chilled champagne waiting for us when we checked in because we had told them it was our anniversary - that was VERY impressive and a nice surprise. We went to happy hour down the hall one night but skipped the second because it was so crowded...still, the snacks were tasty and the drinks were free, so what's not to love? We rented two chairs and an umbrella on Saturday and had a relaxing day at the beach. The weather was perfect and the breeze kept it from being too hot. The pool area was nice, but crowded with screaming kids, so we chose the beach. Because the hotel was sold out while we were there, they upgraded our breakfast to the full buffet both days. One of the nicest things was the Starbucks coffee every morning! We also liked the wait staff, who were friendly without being too invasive. They had a great selection of both hot and cold items including lots of fresh fruit. We wanted to watch some of the Sweet 16 games, so we ended up going down to the restaurant/bar one night, and had one of their brick oven pizzas for dinner. It was surprisingly good! Lastly, the air conditioner was incredibly good without being too loud. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend, and we hope to go back soon.

Room Tip: The oceanfront rooms are right above the pool, which was pretty noisy - you may be better off with t...

We stayed only one night at the Doubletree, but would have liked it to have been more. The hotel is on the beach, and we stayed in an ocean view room with a nice balcony, which afforded us views of Cape Canaveral to the north, and the sunrise in the morning. Hotel was good and certainly up to Hilton standards, but nothing exceptional either. There is a large parking lot with plenty of free parking, but most restaurants are not within walking distance. Staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. Our room had a walk-in shower only, which was fine with us. There is a relatively small pool with a large pool deck and walkway leading to the beach. We had lunch in the hotel restaurant prior to check-in and the food there was very good.

Room Tip: Pay the slight premium for a ocean view room. It is well worth it. However, the rooms on the 2nd f...

Stayed 2 nights on Executive Floor. Room was clean and view of ocean was okay would like oceanfront but side view was still okay. The need to put small table on balcony. Enjoyed the free cocotails and munchies each night and breakfast in morning well worth the extra paid and I like having top floor. No safe in the room which would be nice. The beach was great it was March Break and the rest of the beach was crowed but not here very peaceful and we rented lounges and umbrella and brought our own drinks to beach was wonderful. Pizza was very good and also fridge and micro in room for leftovers. It was a good stay and I researched a lot before choosing this hotel and feel it was the best one in cocoa beach for us. 2 adults and 1 teen. We drove to pier and restuarants in the area and visited Ron Jauns and were happy to return to our quiet area of the beach. Oh and I love the cookies they are so good I mean really good I miss them.

Can I say... we had 10 rooms for a conference...each one has a shower that has such strong water pressure and such hot water, every person commented on it...with love! Get up, take run or walk on the beach out back...come in and get your free massage :)
Clean and we are inspectors of clean...
Missed a shower cap and magnifying mirror otherwise I had hair dryer, iron & board, minifdige, coffee (pods) and condiments, lotion, shampoo, conditioner and bar soaps.

A/c got freezing cold like I like it!
My only complaint was no exhaust vent in bathroom. But, I wasn't sharing so it was tolerable.
Plenty of free parking.

I tested the "Coserve & Preserve" thing because every hotel promises if you hang up your towel they won't change it out in order to conserve water and energy...but most still take it. They did not and that is how I like it. They pass the "green test." Recycle box by vending, if you want.

Grant made checking in at midnight fun and Rashaun turned us on to a great restaurant!
The souvenirs in the hotel are as good a value as Ron Jon or Alvin's Island but $2.50 for a bottled diet coke is just too much.

Room Tip: Rooms 448.449.438.419.451.429...no view of water. Keep curtains closed when dressing as rooms view...

We stayed at this hotel on February 24, 2012 for one night, we were leaving on a cruise the following morning. We had booked months ago, and then worried that we wouldn't be able to stay here because the hotel was closed for rennovations. Fortunately for us, it reopened the week prior to our arrival. We loved this hotel, the location, the food, the drinks, the pool - everything was amazing. We had a 4th floor room overlooking the ocean - absolutely beautiful. The weather upon arrival was in the mid-high 80's and we were able to get into our room by 1:00ish and were on the beach by 1:10! The beach is beautiful, there are rental chairs and umbrellas available. We were able to get drinks from the hotel to bring down to the beach. The room was clean, comfortable with a nice assortment of travel needs.

They have amazing pizza from the bar, cooked via a big wood burning oven. Absolutely delicious! We had dinner in the restaurant that evening and it was wonderful. Eggs Benedict in the morning - again amazing!

If I had one suggestion, it would be to add additional bar staff during peak hours. During the afternoon, there were a lot of guests but only 1 person behind the bar working so it led to quite a wait. There was a scheduled satellite launch that afternoon so everyone was eager to get to the beach to see it.

The view from the hotel is lovely, if you are cruising, get up early and you can see the ships coming in. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful - and the warm cookies upon arrival are amazing.

I would highly recommend this hotel - great for families and couples looking for a getaway! All rooms have a balcony which is great for relaxing and enjoying the view.

Room Tip: I think pretty much every room has a great view, however, the view from the ocean facing rooms are f...
