Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: No Walk-ins Accepted - Small boat tours - We no longer offer tours: May-October due to the water quality and manatee numbers. Tour Reservation Confirmation Required by email only -We are a private tour company owned and operated ONLY by the owners/captains. We give each tour the "personal and educational" attention you want and allow the manatees to feel comfortable while we explore their world. While on tour if you ask, we'll even explain how manatee rescues are performed and what we do in our spare time as manatee volunteers to help PROTECT and PRESERVE, this incredible species for future generations. LOOK- DON'T TOUCH the wild manatees, touching/rubbing/petting manatees reduces their chance for survival as you habituate them towards boats and people. Keep wildlife wild.

Capt Mike and his wife Stacey run a private tour for up to 6 people for the price of the bigger tours. More importantly this couple really cares about the manatees and are very well educated about the proper practice of interacting with these amazing animals. They are involved in manatee research including tagging and monitoring and in maintaining a positive experience for the manatee and snorkelers. We arrived an hour late and were still given a full 3 hour tour. Capt Mike went out of his way not only to find manatees to interact with but also waited once other boats were leaving to allow us to have our own personal family interaction with a manatee. Capt Mike was great with kids and answered our daughters many questions. Another bonus- Mike and Stacey also took many photos that they later e-mailed that our daughter will use to give her class a presentation on manatees. We will be back again!

My husband and I booked a private tour with Captain Stacy after reading all the great reviews on tripadvisor.com. I'm so glad we did because the experience with Captain Stacy was much different (i.e. better) than what we witnessed with other tour boats/guides. She really cares for these creatures, respects them and their habitat, and this was refreshing to us because we share the same respect for manatees. While the other tour guides dropped anchor and played on their cell phones, Captain Stacy was looking out for the manatees, directing us as we were swimming toward them, taking pictures, etc. She had our best interest at heart. You will learn a lot about manatees and their interactions with humans (some good, some not so good) from Captain Stacy. We highly recommend a tour with her and we hope to return next year!

Went with Captain Stacy with another couple on private tour (max 6). This was a breathtaking experience to swim with the manatees - including a two year old "baby". Captain Stacey is very knowledgeable and does a huge amount of work supporting the various manatee rescue charities. Her trips are full of general environmental information and plenty of clear guidance on how to approach a manatee without causing unnecessary stress. Unfortunately the same caring and observation approach is not practiced by many other operators who see manatee snorkelling as simply a money spinner. Whilst we were quietly observing mother and baby another operator approached with a french family and proceeded to stroke the baby manatee even though we expressed disapproval - the operator was just too busy getting video footage to care. Go with Stacy whilst swimming with manatees is still allowed....we can foresee the time in the not too distant future when it will be banned because of the actions of unscrupulous operators.

The entire experience was wonderful from booking it to the post trip pictures that were sent to us. I searched several "swim with manatee" operations before making my decision. What sold me was there was not one negative comment on Manatees in Paradise. Stacy was very personable and relaxed. It was just our family, so a nice private tour unlike some of the other ones that had boats with several people on them. She let us take our time and spend our time the way we wanted. She took time to make sure we could all snorkel. She was very informative not only of the manatees, but also the area in general. She is very passionate about the manatees and wildlife in general. She also got in the water with us and took pictures which she sent to us within hours of our tour. A great personal encounter with manatees. Manatees in Paradise should be your only choice. Thanks again Stacy for sharing your boat, time, but most of all your knowledge and passion for manatees and wildlife in the area. Stacy is a professional and respects the manatees, their environment, and others enjoying the Crystal River. Truly one of the highlights of our trip to Florida!!!!!
