This is a redneck vacation for sure. Locals from all over the south come here instead of going to South Florida which is more like California than Georgia. Rival of Panama City this is known for spring break and drinking. Great boardwalk and they have police on bicycles Patrolling the beach; especially safe IF NOT spring break.

There are plenty of beaches north and south that are nicer.
Area is sketchy and the people are too.
Do your homework before you leave.

Wonderful beach to take a nice long walk. Passed some beautiful homes and enjoyed the sounds of the waves, the smell of the ocean and some very pretty Shore birds. The cars on Daytona Beach go at a slow pace so I never felt the least in danger of being hit. And there is a section that is car free. One of the nicest things about Daytona.

What can I say? I love Daytona Beach. I like the little shops, the restaurants and of course the beach!
