“WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT EXPERIENCE THE ENGINE HAD NOT FAILED”
Reviewed 9 November 2011

Booked Boogies because the pontoon boats looked really clean and new. First of all, for the health & safety advice, no one talks to you, you are told to stand in front of a large tv screen and watch the video, which is fine if the sun is not glaring down on it making it very hard to see and hear because of all the noise around ie boats, people etc. We started our trip and were having a lovely time until the engine cut out on the boat. We tried all sorts to get it started and with us being inexperienced, we thought it best to call the telephone number given to us. After trying to get through for what seemed like hours (probably about 10 mins) we finally got through to the 'receptionist' who was not helpful, she told us she would get the guy to call us back. Meantime we were drifting out to the Gulf (and i a not kidding). By this time we had our life jackets on and were trying to get the engine started. A couple in another pontoon boat stopped to see if they could help but then told us they had to get back as their time was running out! By this time my husband had made several calls to their office telling them we were now in danger. She told us he would be with us asap. When we made the first phone call we were directly across from the harbor walk village and by the time the guy came out we were in the Gulf passing the breaker rocks. He was quite unconcerned at how frightened we were and said nothing. he towed us back and we made a very strong complaint. When the owner called us the next day he said if we were that frightened we should have called 911 and offered us a free pontoon trip the next day. I don't think so. We will never use them again, very unconcerned and unprofessional. They take your money and send you on your merry way. We have been on one pontoon boat before that in Destin and had absolutely no trouble calling the guy for advice etc and were physically shown what to do if certain things happened in an emergency. BEWARE OF BOOGIES

“Awesome!”
Reviewed 29 August 2011

Single mother of 2 teenagers, took my kids parasailing. The boat ride was awesome, the guides were very informative and entertaining! They made my kids feel very comfortable and they said it was the most amazing view from the air. They had a blast and only want to go to Boogies now for everything we do. The ticket sales people were very nice and helpful as well! We will go back to Boogies every time we get back to Destin!

“Dolphins off the bow!”
Reviewed 16 August 2011

We did the dolphin cruise in the glass bottom boat. We saw lots of dolphins, especially in the second phase of the cruise as the boat got out into the Gulf. For a long period of time a pod of dolphins thought it would be fun to ride our bow wave, and leap in front of it as they breathed. Wow. I was just blown away, wondering why the dolphins were sharing this gift of wild grace with us.

The crew were friendly, especially with our 7 year old who was invited to captain the ship with the other kids.

As for the glass bottom, it is more like a plastic walls in the hull. Slightly cramped, hot, and I only took a quick glance before staying topside. Neither a plus or minus, although I will confess that I was expecting a floor of glass and not a wall.
