This new diner is just what Floral City needed. The portions are huge and the food is excellent. I had the omelette and home fries and could barley finish my plate. If you haven't checked out this honey hole yet you need to head down there soon.

I'm so glad a good home cooking place came to floral city! The food is excellent with great portion sizes, the prices are very well priced for the quality and quantity of food that you get! The desserts are superb and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, very clean restaurant too! Overall best restaurant in town!!! Highly reccommened!!

The newest owners of the little stand alone building have done a very nice job at renovation and updating the Honey Hole. The interior is neat and clean (and as of the date of this review), additional inside seating is in the works. Nice, because I swear, Citrus County is the cigarette smoking capital of Florida. 70% of the county is on welfare, and 90% of the people smoke, and I would have to hold my breath walking thru the old "smokers" porch. Some of the bumble bee waitress's at the Honey Hole may have been in transition or something because friendliness wasn't at the forefront. But the buzz is improving but repeat customers want to be smiled at, acknowledged and thanked for their business. If the owners were there, they haven't been friendly either.
I'm not real confident in the Honey Hole business model for this area. The food is pretty good, but about 15% overpriced across the board. Here is how I look at it (from a middle class viewpoint), Honey Hole is good, but instead of eating at the Honey Hole two to three times per week, the prices dictate a visit about once every two weeks. The breakdown; Instead of visiting over 80 times per year , the cost limits me to about 20 visits a year. They would be making about four times more money from me by charging less. A big loss of potential revenue by overpricing the menu. A French dip sandwich price w/fries here is like $8.95, add a slice of cheese (a French did should include cheese anyhow) add $1.00, so it's $10 bucks for a sandwich and fries. Add a drink and a tip and lunch just set you back $15. Breakfast (with some terrific seasoned home fries) can set you back $7 to $10 with drink plus a tip. The homefries have improved from when they first opened.
Huge parking lot. Convenient location across from the Circle K. Open only for breakfast and lunch. Service isn't fast, but not real slow.
I hope the Honey Hole is successful because of the convenience factor and location. But until the prices come down, visits will be held to a minimum (unless I hit the lotto).
