We booked a one day trip from Fort Lauderdale FL to Freeport, Bahamas. The ferry itself was clean and comfortable but that's where it stopped. All the literature including my email confirmation stated the ferry arrived in the Bahamas at 12:30. As the time approached and we saw no land we asked the Purser about it and she told myself and several others the arrival time had never been 12:30, always more like 1:45pm. In the end we arrived at Freeport at 2:10 after customs it was 2:35 when we left the terminal. As the ferry check in was at 5 we had just about 2.5 hours in the Bahamas. Returning to the port, we met what was a cattle shed, there was no organisation, people checked in had to stand around with people trying to check in, then it was a free for all to board. AS a sort of compensation we were ungraded to 1st class and thought we would get some rest however a party of about 12 started to party big time and despite several people asking the crew to have a word with them, no crew member showed their face. The return trip was supposed to get back to FL at 10pm, in the end we arrived at 10.50 and finally exited the boat at 11:20. Because of their times being so far our, we missed a planned and pre-paid trip on a glass bottom boat and as we had used the hotel shuttle to Port Everglades we arrived back too late for return by that and ended up with a taxi bill of $30. The food on board was limited to some sandwiches (ham or turkey with cheese) which for some unknown reason they microwaved until about to burst into flame at $6, soggy under cooked cold fries for $4, burnt pizza (8 inch) at $4 a 1/6 slice or 5 chicken nuggets for $4. All in all, the worthless ferry, the missed trip and the taxi cost me over $400.
