I have always researched on Tripadvisor before vacations, spring break 2012 was no exception. The only thing we knew is that we wanted to visit someplace different in FL close to Sanibel. We have vacationed on Sanibel for many years and were ready for a change. I found the Best Western and the reviews were pretty good so we chose them for our mother daughter get away.

Upon our arrival to Fort Myers Beach, I could not have been happier! Our flight came in early so we were actually able to check in early which was wonderful because that gave us extra time on the beach. All of the staff were friendly and one of them had the resident Macall on his shoulder most of the time. We had a single room with two double beds which had a pretty good sized kitchen. The room was a bit small but it was ok for two people, my daughter and I. Besides, we were never there except to sleep. The great thing is that the Best Western has several different room styles for your family.

The Best Western is wonderfully quiet. It is down from Times Squares, about a 10 minute walk down the beach, or less to the pier. My daughter is 20 and on spring break but really wanted a break! What was nice about their location is that you could walk down to where most of the reastaurants and shops were (times square). THAT is where you will find all your spring breakers!! We were there the first week of March and there were only a few colleges there but lots of people. So, for us, Best Western gave us the best of both worlds!

As for our room, the kitchen was great! We had a car so we drove down to Publix to get a few grocerys to stock the kitchen. Publix is quite a ways down but there is a 7 11 about a three minute walk down from the hotel. The hotel had a great free breakfast every morning so we were covered there. For lunch we made sandwiches in the room and took them to the pool and ate poolside. (which by the way, if you want a good chair, or a chair at all, get to the pool early and put your towel on them to reserve them. I felt cheesy at first but when in rome...) You can rent chairs on the beach but really, not worth it when you can get a chair at the pool which is right on the beach anyhow. or like we did a couple times, just take your towel out and relax! Then for dinner we walked down to Times Square to eat. We had a room on the second floor that overlooked the pool. It was great! That's the one thing about this hotel.. you can not go wrong with whichever room you get because they all overlook the beach. We could lay in our bed and have a view of the poo, the palm trees, the beach and the waves..... it was so incredably relaxing words can not describe.

As I mentioned before we have always vacationed on Sanibel. Well, not anymore. I will book this hotel from now on. It's perfect. You are only a short drive to... well ... anything you need. And the shelling???? Our first day there I was trying to figure out how Sanibel can claim they have the best shelling.... we found shells that we had never found on Sanibel and even found several sand dollars that we had never found on Sanibel either. Nice white sand that was soft and clean. This was supposed to be a laying on the beach and enjoy ourselves vacation so the only site seeing we did was head to the outlet mall which was great. (Miramar)

In conclusion, we will deffinitly stay here agin. We met one family who has been coming to this hotel for 19 years. The parents were in their 80's and all there kids and grandkids get together each year at this hotel! Special Place!!

Room Tip: You can not go wrong here! Every room has a view

We stayed at the Best Western over March Break. It was nice, but definitely not worth the 360 dollars a night we paid. Absolutely ridiculous. On the positive, the beach is nice and the pool was warm. You are right on the beach and it's close enough to the main town square to walk easily, even with a 6 year old. There is breakfast included too. But, our room was only 2 queen beds, ground floor, There was a small kitchen, but no dishwasher. The couch had rips all over it. The bed was comfortable. Anyways, it was ok, but not worth the amount we paid. If it was more reasonable, then it would be worth it. We stayed in a 2 bedroom the week before right on the beach for less than that, and it was much larger.

This is a beautiful spot on the beach, and the staff went so far out of the way to help with a family emergency while staying there it is almost unbelievable! I have never seen this level of customer service, and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just got back from Ft Myers beach and i stayed at the Best Western Resort with my family. Amazing location on the ocean and the view from your room balcony is breathtaking. The continental breakfast every morning was delicous and full of variety. Only thing i didnt like was the slow elevators. Other then that minor flaw i will 100% stay at this resort again! I HIGHLY recommend this resort to anyone! Beach is right off the resort and away from spring breakers. Within walking distant of tons of restaurants and shopping! WONDERFUL resort!

My wife and two teen children stayed only one night after getting a ground floor room with ripped furniture, nail polish dried on dining room table, and candy wrappers in chairs. I assume this was worst room and other rooms are nicer based on generally positive reviews. Great location is only positive. The pool is relatively small. It has few resort amenities like restaurant, bar, whirlpool, store, spa and ATM. We have stayed at other Ft Myers Beach places and don't understand the rave reviews particularly in light of steep price. Staff was kind enough to let us cancel remainder of reservation without penalty.

This is the second time we have visited this hotel since it's re-furbishment in the last two years and this time the property was just as crisp and new as the last time. Sited right on the beach you could not wish for a better location. The price is higher end for the resort but worth it as long as they keep it in tip top condition. Service is OK and reasonably friendly. Breakfast buffet is good with plenty of choice and the addition this year of hot breakfast rolls. Free internet and wi-fi is a bonus. Close to the bars and eateries but far enough away to be quiet at night. All rooms face the sea.

Room Tip: Choose rooms on the 5th floor (top floor) for best views.

We stayed at this hotel when our children were small and loved it. Recently we stayed again for two nights. The rooms have been remodeled since we stayed there last and while they are more modern and up to date, the space felt alot smaller to us. Still nice to have a kitchenette but with luggage for 3 adults and one child, it felt crowded to us. Love that the ocean is right outside the lobby door and the pool, while not huge, was heated perfectly so you weren't chilled at all in the water. Loved our stay but wish for the price of $266.00 per night, the rooms would have been bigger.

Room Tip: All rooms are ocean front, so there's not a bad view out of any of them. Except first floor roo...

We do have several suites that would better accommodate 3 adults and a child, more than likely they were already reserved. Thank you for the review and staying with us.
