If you look beneath the veneer of the running of this place it needs a kick up the xxxx. Room not that large, breakfast below average, no plug for either the sink or bath and the staff like a smoke from time to time giving a casual feel.

Place could do with a fresh motivational engine

Room Tip: Not our room for sure

Upon arrival the front desk lady was extremely nice and friendly!

We were on the third floor she said we had the best view in the hotel!

You could tell the ocean was out there but it wasn't a great view with the light shining in our room all night from the lamp light pole.

Music across the street from the bar was very loud at night.

I hated the walk to the beach so we drove over making it easy to unload our beach gear, however there are only about five parking spots.

The bathtub had rust in it and there was no plug to take a bath I had to use a towel to shove it down the drain. It was sick to look across the bathtub at the rusty moldy pipes underneath the sink while trying to take a relaxing bath.

Breakfast was a complete joke! They put a jug of milk out on ice allowing people to pour their own milk and I couldn't stop having visions of children drinking from the milk jug. The breakfast area was very very tight and the lady that worked there stood in the way constantly bumping into people making it very uncomfortable.

The pool seem clean but there were guests smoking while swimming which was disgusting that they were allowed to do that.

Our bed was soft and comfortable however the air conditioner was very very loud which caused us to turn the sound up high on the TV.

I don't think we'd be back to that area because while we were on the beach for the sunrise we were eaten up by invisible bugs on the beach across the street from the hotel.

When we returned home we had to go to the doctor to get anti-itch medication for our legs because they were so bitten up. After researching we learned about sand fleas where common in that area with all the seaweed and the dampness from the storms.

Stay away from the beach in the morning although we never had a problem like that the night before in the late afternoon.

Truly a great location, nice pool, friendly staff. The place was really dirty though, don't take your shoes off in your room. Look around, it's updated but obvious current ownership is cheap.

Breakfast had very few healthy options.

Internet connection was decent.

Locals came and used the pool, I didn't care, I wasn't at the pool but they were rude, every room could hear them yelling.

Room Tip: High as possible, can just barely see glimpses of the ocean from the 2nd floor.

The front desk staff was rude. Their is no excuse, she was just plain rude. We will not go back.
The room was clean and nice. The pool comfortable.
We stay over on that coast at least once a month and when someone treats you like that, well you don't have to return.
Their are plenty of nice places over there.

We spent the weekend at Royal Inn Beach Hutchinson Island, small property currently being upgraded. The rooms are well appointed, small table with 2 chairs, 2 beds, a small sink with vanity just outside the bathroom, Keurig coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator. They provide soap, shower cap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion. K-cups and sugar etc. There is an iron and ironing board, clock radio with chargers for various phones, tv. They provide a nice breakfast, they have waffle makers, yogurt, snack bars, cereals, milk, apple juice, orange juice, bagels, oatmeal, cream cheese, peanut butter, jelly packets. There is outdoor seating on the patio which has nice hanging umbrellas **- *invisible bugs biting *** we ate inside - one day it was a bit warm in there but better than getting bit.

There is an elevator.

Free WiFi

Outside shower by pool and also near 1st floor near the undercover parking (1 handicap spot and a few others) All other spots are full sun.

There is work being done on property so there was some noise during our stay. It was also a bit noisy as the guests coming in after 10 were quite oblivious that others were staying at the hotel.

Fixtures could use some upgrading in the bathroom.

BEACH across the street from hotel - easy walk, if you drive there are only a few spots for parking

Plenty of restaurants within walking distance

Nice area

SAFETY CONCERNS - A MUST READ

LOCKS - We were given room 207 which had an issue with the lock on the sliding door that would not lock. We were then given room 307 which had the same issue with the sliding glass door. We went down to front desk and someone came up to take a look and advised just old and no other rooms to be moved to. They said it's an old Florida hotel.

We stayed and we were able to lock the sliding glass door lock however it would open on it's own??? we did say we took our valuables with us as no safe in the room.

There was at least 1/4" gap in front door and frame - room 207 looked like lock had door lock had been drilled wrong.

POOL GATE - sometimes people do not close so if you have children keep an eye out.

Room Tip: Ask if work being done on property also do NOT get room by elevator
