We used to frequent Classico's, but have not visited in several years. We were very disappointed in our experience today. We were seated soon after arrival, and it took awhile until we were acknowledged and had our drink order taken. We ordered our food as soon as our drinks arrived. After several minutes, we flagged down our waitress for water and a bread basket. Our salads arrived. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. We decided we would leave if our food did not arrive in 10 minutes. Nine minutes later, (over an hour after we ordered), our food arrived, and was just mediocre. According to the waitress, two of the kitchen staff had called out, and the remaining staff was trying to keep up with the orders. A woman was flying around, obviously very stressed, and not speaking respectfully to staff. She may have been the owner or a manager. This made for a very tense atmosphere, since she spoke loud enough for diners to hear. The waitress was not attentive (maybe avoiding the problem?) When the kitchen staff is short, restaurants should close tables, or at least warn diners that the food may take awhile. Will not visit again, which is too bad since we like to patronize local establishments.
