My wife and I traveled about an hour to go to the lighthouse and it was worth it. We had a little trouble finding the pace and we arrived just when a tour was about to start. The tour guide was nice enough to wait while we got our tickets. The tours start on the hour and you must be guided through the park. The tour guide that we had has been doing tours for a number of years and she was very informative. There is more to see on the tour then just the lighthouse and we stayed for the whole presentation.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is a beautiful and beautifully preserved landmark on the Florida Coast. The hour-long tour cost $12 for adults, and was very educational. The view from the top of the lighthouse was wonderful! It’s 105 steps to the top, so it’s definitely a workout, but the view is worth it. The tour typically stays at the top of 10 to 15 minutes, so there’s plenty of time to recover. The gift shop is decent, and the museum next to the shop is great! Definitely worth a visit!

Ok, first of all it was way too hot to do this but we we stayed in Jupiter and after having our dose of nightlife we wanted to balance ourselves with history and culture the next day before leaving..
This is a labor of love for the mostly elderly tourguides and we were privy to follow a most knowledgeable and funny one.
Make no mistake, this will turn into a workout climbing the tower and you'll receive a certificate of "survival" upon completion. Kudos to every guide who conducts this at least three times a day!
There is much more to the tour than just the lighthouse and you'll feel like you stepped into another time for awhile.

Tours of the lighthouse are on the hour and we arrived five minutes too late. We didn't have time to take the next one so we paid a reduced price and just visited the museum. Very well done film on history of the area pre-lighthouse to 1860s & to present. Number of artifacts from various periods including Seminole and early settlers. Nice gift shop - bought a mug. The gift shop and museum are in a WW II government building.

This is one of 5 working lighthouses in the US and is definitely worth the time and fee to tour it and the grounds. Tours are guided and include history of the area, outbuildings on the grounds, and of course, the walk to the top of the Lighthouse. It's 35 steps up to the base of the lighthouse and 135 steps from the door to the top. There are several landings on the way up so that you can rest while you look out the windows at the incredible view! Then the top - amazing! The catwalk goes all the way around from which you can see water everywhere! Quite an experience, I can assure you!
