We arrived a little before 8pm on Sunday and checked in. We had upgraded to a Superior One Bedroom Suite and proceeded to our room. The room had to be the worst room in the building!!! There was a weird smell and the view from the balcony was obstructed by the back of the cement steps going to the 3rd floor - not the ocean view mentioned on their website. We walked back to the front desk to see about changing rooms but it was closed - it closed at 8pm. The sun had gone down and the exterior of the hotel was very dark as we walked back to our room on the 2nd floor. The exterior lights were not turned on! It gets worse - the lock on our door jammed and we were unable to get back into our room. We called the emergency number and had to wait about 15 minutes in the dark for someone to show up. The person told us there was a computer problem and that was why the exterior lights were not turned on. We were able to jiggle the door to get back into our room. There was a large gap between the door and the doorframe exposing the door lock - easy for someone to pry it open.

The lock on the sliding door was broken. The office worker told us there is a wooden pole in the room that we should place the track to secure the door! Not a very safe situation!

The hotel looks a lot nicer and larger in the pictures on the internet. I would give MB a rating of 1 star but the complimentary breakfast was very nice and the room was clean. I definitely would NOT stay here again!

What a dump. Hotel picture hides how terrible this place is. And to top it off they tried overcharging us. Took days to correct the problem. Never ever again. The furniture in the room was awful, right down to the smelly and torn fabric on the couch. The lagoon. It was a green algae covered mess. Stay far far away..

Stayed here for one night as part of road trip. This split our journey up back from key west. Room was very clean and bed was comfy. Rooms are spacious and the view is great. Added a bottle of wine in our room for our anniversary which was a nice touch. Thanks. Car parking is free. Didn’t think much to breakfast but most places seem to be like this. Complimentary newspapers in reception. Staff were very informative at check in so you get to know everything you need. Would stay again. Ask for room facing the coast - we got up for the sunrise on our balcony.

Our suite (#304) was large with a separate living area and very clean. We even had a screened in patio where we could sit or yang our dive gear to dry. There were a couple unfinished patches on the ceiling in the room, but this didn’t really bother us. The property itself was spotless; we enjoyed the pool and the kayaks. For people not familiar with the area, sometimes there is an odor coming from the water. During our 4 day visit, we experienced this 3 days. Once you’re outside for a while, you get used to it. It’s just a Keys thing. The continental breakfast was what one would expect. However, we did not expect the patio view overlooking the water or real plates and silverware. We will definitely stay here again.
