“Very nice :)”
Reviewed 1 April 2012

We stayed here for 2 days in june 2011, and we loved this little motel :) Very relaxing atmosphere, and great little pool in the motel. Very nice big rooms, good beds and the bathroom was nice and clean.
Breakfast area was a little small, but the food was okay, and the price for staying here was very reasonable.

We liked our stay at the Hibiscus. It is within walking distance of major downtown area but quieter. It is very close to the water near the Southern Most Spot in the USA marker. One street over from Duval and with assorted places to eat within a couple of blocks. Appears to be an older motel that has been refurbished. Rooms are pleasantly decorated. Pool area is nice. Staff is cordial. Buffet breakfast is more than adequate. My husband liked the breakfast sandwiches from Bob Evans. We would stay there again because we liked the area and were satisfied with the property.

Room Tip: 2 levels. Probably better on upper level. We were on poolside. While the motel was filled, we were...

This was a very nice hotel in Key West. Great location. Within walking distance of the beach, the Southern Most Point, and about a 20 minute walk down Duval Street where the action is. Walk along Whitehead road which is beautiful and slightly less busy.

The hotel was clean and looked great. I believe it just got a fresh coat of paint. The room was huge and included a microwave and fridge. The pool was great. Very very nice.

The breakfast was ok. I'm not one for breakfast but croissant's would have been nice. But they had muffins, bagels, cereal, fruit, waffles, etc. Fine for most. I'm picky though so...

There are two computers you can use to check email or print out things which was great and there is also WiFi.

All in all, I would certainly stay here again. A nice quiet hotel in a great location.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the pool. Very nice and quiet. Mindful of the fact that there are no eleva...

Key West hotels, especially when trying to stay in Old Town and during the height of season, can be quite costly. That's why we were so surprised to find a hotel in this location and for a relatively nice price. And for a bunch of guys on a bachelor party trip, those are the things that mattered most.

The staff here was extremely helpful and made sure to place all our rooms very close together. A difficult thing to do, especially since it was on a Saturday night that we were staying and only for one night! They also made sure to provide us with many little cards to get tons of drink specials throughout the night.

Rooms were very spacious, with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and even a personal microwave with popcorn. All these things made a huge difference in our experience. There was even free wi-fi in the rooms and a business center. The pool and hot tub were very inviting and kept in fantastic working order.

Only complaint was that the door handle on one of the rooms was slightly broken (could still open and close without major issues) and the free continental breakfast was a bit bland. I know I shouldn't be complaining much since it was free but I have had better. Other than that the stay was wonderful.

If you're looking for a great hotel, for the right price, and in the right location, you've found it right here. As an added bonus, you can save money by using triple AAA discount (if you have it) and Best Western Rewards (it's free, so sign up!). You'll be happy you did.

Because of it's age, I was a little wary about reserving a room at Best Western's Hibiscus Hotel in Key West. I shouldn't have been. Though there were a few minor signs of age, Best Western has done a great job with this historic property.

The rooms are much larger than average. We had two queen beds, two over-stuffed chairs, a table, a large desk, a dresser with a huge flat-screen TV... and still enough room to hold a square dance, if we'd wanted to. The second vanity & sink outside the bathroom was another plus.

The room was clean, and included a mini-fridge, a microwave, a coffeemaker with coffee, and even a complimentary bag of microwave popcorn. The beds were comfortable, and the A/C worked almost too well. The complimentary breakfast is decent, featuring Bob Evans breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, cereal, breads and pastries.

I loved the location. The Hibiscus is on Simonton Street - just one block off Duval, and two blocks from Southernmost Point. It's a bit of a hike to Mallory Square - about 12 blocks. But that's easy enough for most folks to walk. And far enough away to provide peace and quiet, even during spring break.

If you want a decent value on a hotel that's a bit nicer than average, the Hibiscus is a good choice.

I stayed at this BW 2x on family trips to KW, and both times the stay was great. We had a poolside queen room, which was very large with 2 queen beds, a dresser, small table and a couple chairs, small fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, a vanity and sink outside the bathroom, and a pedestal sink in the bathroom with the toilet and shower. If you have very young children there is NO bathtub but that is easily remedied because the shower is very large just block the drain and fill the bottom with water. The continental breakfast was fine, it was 90+ degrees everyday we were there who wants to eat a lot anyway? The pool was great, in thefternoons we would go back to the hotel let the kids cool off in the pool, nap. clean up and go off again and when we returned in the evening back in the pool to get tired and off to bed. The location is excellent easy to walk every where including South Beack or Higgs Beach, on the quieter end of old town. Can't say enough about it, i just planned our KW vacation for this summer but unfortunately can't stay at the BW again because we are travelling with 4 children and would need 2 rooms, so we have to stay at another place i have stayed at which is fine.

Room Tip: The poolside rooms are just outside the gate/fence from the pool area on the ground level and the fe...
