The designer and architect of this renovated hotel should be commended. The room was very nice and modern. We were impressed by the shower and how "green" the room was. There are a few items that could be improved. The towels are very thin and look grey and old. A ceiling fan and lighted makeup type mirror would have been nice. The staff were pleasant and helpful. A few more cereal choices would be nice - perhaps non-sugary type cereal. We were not thrilled with the $10 resort fee as we did not use the pool during our 5 day stay.

New hotel nicely located. But the room we were in was not well designed. The sink was not in the bathroom, and hard to get to from the bathroom; the door was in the way. The breakfast choices were limited. (Hampton Inns offer much more.) The breakfast area wasn't adequate. There's a $10 "resort fee"; for what, the swimming pool? Stay here only if you can get a good rate.

Room Tip: Contact the hotel directly to get the best rate. During our stay there were plenty of "vacancy" signs out.

Dear Kippy_37,

Thank you for the honest review of our property. Having the sink outside the restroom allows for our guest to be able to shower themselves or use the restroom while another is able to use the vanity area to also dress themselves up. This is a growing trend amongst newer hotels and is very convenient for everyone staying in the room. We do hope you return to our hotel in the future to see some of the improvements we have made over time.

Our family of four stayed at the Silver Palms, and while we found it a little tight overall it was comfortable. We really enjoyed the pool, and found the location convenient for our needs. The free breakfast was adequate, and all our other dining needs were met easily by restaurants within walking distance. We were happy with the experience.

We stayed seven nights and, overall, the hotel was fine and suited our needs.

Staff: The staff was very friendly and accommodated anything we needed. While the staff was friendly, the cleaning staff was very inconsistent. Our room wasn't cleaned one day, we didnt get towels a few days, and things like facial tissue would not be replaced.

Location: The hotel is centrally-located. Everything is within a 15-20 minute walk but nothing is within a five minute walk....so, if you want to be in the middle of the action, this is not your place.

Pool: The pool is small and only 4' deep, but it was well kept. However, a major complaint is that the designated smoking section for the entire hotel is at the pool...this makes no sense--the only place you're allowed to smoke is around other hotel guests trying to relax with their families. Can't the smoking section be put in the garage or, better yet, not on the property at all? Smelling cigarettes while trying to play with my baby daughter was disgusting.

Room: The room felt clean and, as a suite, was a great size to splurge for the week. The downside is the suites face the front of the building...so, we were constantly woke up by drunks getting out of cabs, motorcycles roaring down the road and a rooster that began cockle-doodle-dooing every morning around 4:30am and would continue for hours (no, that is not a joke).

We were very pleased witheverything about our stay at the Silver Palms. It is within walking distance of many of the sights, the trolley and some great restaurants. The staff was great and let us park there before we were able to check in (we got to Key West in the lae morning). they offered us bottled water and gave us directions to places we wanted to go to. the rooms were very comfortable with a small private balcony (ours overlooked the pool). The bed was ver comfortable and the decore fresh and modern and energy effficient (have to leave the keycard in the slot to have the air conditioner run). Everything was very clean, continental breakfast was great and we could sit out by the pool to eat. Free parking too.
