“Great Place!!”
Reviewed 1 April 2012

We decided to stay at Old Town Manor upon the recommendation of family who had also recently stayed there. We were not disappointed! It was a beautiful place with beautiful gardens, helpful and friendly staff, and many healthy options for breakfast. Having stayed in a chain hotel in Key West in the past, we have decided that the location and amenities (and even the price) of Old Town Manor are so much better. If we ever return to Key West, this is the place we want to stay!

Room Tip: I don't think there are any bad rooms here! My only tip is, if the room smells a little musty wh...

This is an absolutely perfect B&B!! I cannot say enough how wonderful it was. Our room and the entire place was beautiful! The staff were all very friendly & did their best to make us feel at "home". This was our first experience with a B&B so we werent sure what exactly to expect. OTM was perfect! We fell in love as soon as we walked in the front door!!

I can't say enough about how wonderful Old Town Manor is. Every aspect of it is designed to help you feel comfortable, secure, and well cared-for. The rooms and furniture and decor are tasteful, and the staff is outstanding, and can readily help with any and all questions or problems that arise. They know restaurants, shops, and excursions, and patiently answer all questions about details of getting there, or making arrangements. And the location is perfect: just close enough to the main Old Town stores, but a little off the beaten path in a quieter residential area. I was there during college spring break, where the streets of Key West were at times a bit rowdy, and the best part of Old Town Manor is, they keep you insulated from all that. I felt exceptionally well taken care of, and definitely plan to return.

My Fiance and I stayed here in January while we were on a quick planning trip for our upcoming wedding. It was perfect for the purpose of our stay! Centrally located and walking distance to EVERYTHING! Very friendly staff! We aren't typically big B&B people, but this was a great, cozy little place! I definitely recommend.

What a great B&B. The house is something out of a movie. It's so nice and peaceful.
This was our first visit to OTM. We found OTM online and decided to rent the entire house for our family's to stay during our wedding this June. We had some wedding things to take care of last weekend so we stayed at OTM for 3 nights. OTM offers breakfast in the morning and we love that. The family will all be able to have breakfast together every morning in a beautiful backyard. The grounds are VERY well kept.
OTM will be great for everyone in our family. The kids can rent DVD's for free at the front desk and every room has a DVD player. The backyard is even lit up with soft overhead lighting and makes a great place to end the night chit chatting about the day. Rocking chairs on the front porch makes a great spot to hang out too. OTM is perfect if you just want to relax or if you want to hit every store/bar on Duval. Perfect location.
My dream of having the family together, but at the same time giving everyone some private space is a dream come true at OTM.

We stayed in the Jacaranda room for three nights.

The newly updated bathroom was great.
We loved all the soy based toiletry items (handsoap, bodywash, shampoo and conditioner)
The towels were lush and soft. They even provide "make-up removing" washcloths.

The room was large enough for a small love seat, which would've been nice, because the single chair wasn't very inviting. The only other place to sit in the room was either on the bed or bed bench at the foot of the bed.

The bed linens weren't top notch. Our mattress cover kept bunching up under the sheets which was annoying. There were plenty of soft pillows to prop yourself up to read or watch the flat screen TV.

There was plenty of storage - chest of drawers and a large closet with inset shelves. Other amenities included: Iron, ironing board, hair dryer, refridgerator, coffee machine and recycling bins.

The garden areas at Old Town Manor are stunning. If you stay in the building behind the main house, you will really get a feel for the Florida foliage. Be sure to check out the "jellyfish" fountain in the back corner at night. Very cool!

As for breakfast ... we like warm, home made goods which fill the air with an enticing aroma. No such luck here. If you want something warmed up, there's a microwave. The breakfast presentation is pretty but the selection is not as good as they describe on the website.

Room Tip: Stay in the building behind the main house for more privacy.

First of all, we sincerely thank this reviewer for their opinions and thoughtful constructive criticism. We are thankful you enjoyed your stay with us!

Because of your review, we are making it a priority to review our mattress pads and linens. To be uncomfortable while sleeping is unacceptable and we will rectify ASAP. We are in the process of upgrading our seating arrangements and have included a number of large comfy chairs in each room. I don't believe the perfect chair has been found for your room, but rest assured it's in the plans.

For breakfast, we are limited by health department requirements, so we don't have the ability to actually bake in the kitchen to give off that wonderful aroma that you wished for! However, we make every effort to make sure that we reduce high fructose corn syrup and add organic products when possible.

We hope you will be able to return in the near future, if only to make sure we do what we promised and improve our quality of service.

I can't believe what great value this guesthouse is, considering the price of Key West accommodation. It all sounded a little too good to be true, and I expected it wouldn't look quite as inviting in real life as it appeared in photos. If anything, it was even better in the flesh. My room, the Queen William, was lovelier than anticipated. Although it's period features give it the warm, cosy ambiance of a time gone by, it is at the same time a cool and inviting retreat from the heat of the Florida Keys. The bathroom appeared recently renovated, and is elegantly decorated, spacious and clean.
Throughout my stay the staff were professional, friendly and helpful, without being intrusive, as to maintain a feeling of guest privacy. The organic breakfast was surprisingly good. I will have to eat organic more often! I especially liked the blueberry bagels. The historic garden setting is lush, cool and tranquil, offering plenty of opportunity for a quiet place to sit and reflect. Although you can't tell from the garden, the property's location is just a stone's throw from the hustle and bustle of Duval Street. In fact I doubt there could be a much better location, being just several minutes walk to Mallory Square.
I can't really fault my stay at Old Town Manor, but if there was one contrary thing I had to mention, it would be that I could not open the windows in my room to let in some fresh air. Perhaps I just didn't try hard enough. The air conditioning unit worked very adequately to cool the room anyway, and it's operation was nice and quiet.
The best advice I could give for this property - book early so that you don't miss out on the room that you want!
