This hotel was great, it was very authentic key west, 2 floors set around a lovely pool. The staff were very friendly, and when we got there they gave us vouchers for free drinks at happy hour which was 5-7 each night. During happy hour they also put out nibbles, which was a really nice touch. The rooms were great really airy and a nice size. It is perfectly located half way down dyval street, just out of the busiest area, but close enough to get into it easily. We will definitely return to key west, and when we do we shall definitely be staying here.

Wonderful location, amazing service and gorgeous rooms. If you are looking for a place in old town but far enough away from insanity, this is your place. The rooms are equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. Location is right off Dual and within walking distance of amazing restaurants. There is a wonderful continental breakfast, and daily happy hour. The service is top notch. Very friendly and will make you feel special. I will come back over and over again.

The perfect place for a more relaxing stay at Key West..location is central..just off Duvall with easy walking distance to all the fun.24 hour dennys cafe (for the early risers like myself) 24 hour CVS and laundremat all right there.Staff was excellent..rooms are not huge but are clean and nicely decorated..pool and grounds are well cared for..overall a place where you can tell the owner cares about you and your stay..will return.

This was our first time to Key West. We looked on trip advisor for help and found Almond Tree Inn. All the reviews were right! When we go back to Key West we plan to stay there again. It was small and quiet. We enjoyed the breakfast and happy hour each day. We walked everywhere we went! The only thing I would ask to fix/change is to get more chairs for the pool area.

This hotel is a 15 minute walk from the action but there is one car park space for every room ($8 charge). I thought it provided a reasonable balance between location and price. King suite room but was really a mini suite: bigger room with couch, microwave, fridge, table in addition to what you'd normally expect in a king bedded room. Very small bathroom. Most rooms seemed to open out onto a verandah that overlooks the pool area. When we were there (April 17/18, 2012) the place was not full (everywhere seemed to have vacancies) so there was plenty of room. Nice, pleasant reception, seemed to be family run and they wanted to please. Certainly helpful. Two free drinks per person in happy hour was nice. Pleasant, semi open air area for drinks and breakfast which was quite reasonably good.
We'd stay there again.

We stayed in room 106, next to the pool. Although there were families with children in the pool, the sound did not penetrate the room. The room was very comfortable and of sufficient size, although there was not adequate seating. The room was very nicely decorated with sufficient storage space. The pool area has considerable seating in lounge chairs and at tables, with a number of umbrellas to keep on the mid-day sun. The afternoon reception of snacks (which change daily), beer, wine, etc. is very nice after a day treking around Key West. The cold breakfast, also varying by day, is quite sufficient. Service is outstanding, with the reception and office staff ready to do anything to help. The location is a block off Duval, and away from the busiest sections of Duval. There are plenty of good restaurants and other services nearby.

We loved this place and thank you to Tripadvisor for the suggestion.

This hotel is rather pricey but I am always willing to pay more for location. Parking is tight, limited, and over eight dollars a day. Arriving late, we missed the "Happy Hour" but as we checked in the desk clerk offered us a glass of wine and invited us to sit on the patio and gear down. That we did. It was dusk, the weather was wonderful and it was amazing how the immediate hospitality set the stage for a wonderful stay.

As we walked to our room we passed a small waterfall with Koi in a pond and a hot tub with plenty of lounge chairs and large pool. Our room was secluded and had everything we could ask for. We entered through a small white gate to the area of our room. A small bistro table tucked under a stairwell was excellent for night time privacy if one of us decided to sit out for a while.

The room had every convenience and then some. It was very spacious, microwave, fridge, safe. store purchased fudge cookies for a late night snack all greeted us with the usual coffee pot and bottled water. The bathroom was a little tight but it was obvious that every effort had been made to make it less close feeling. After shutting the bathroom door the shower had glass blocks for walls and was well lit. A vanity was in the room with a magnifying mirror and plenty of light. There was one TV an additional TV would have been nice in front of the couch but I am NOT complaining!

Breakfast was included and served at an open bar. It was limited but more than enough to satisfy us. Hard boiled eggs, fruit, with toast and pastries which were toasted while you waited. Plenty of juices, peanut butter, sufficient to make a meal but not cooked to order.

There were many birds and small lizards if you are watchful. As we walked to breakfast the employees were washing the lounge chairs and placing a rolled up towel on each lounge. Everyone smiled and said Good Morning as if they really meant it!

Location, we had asked if there were any areas we needed to avoid and the desk clerk said there was wasn't much, if any, crime. We looked at each other and thought, "not what I heard". But even at 12-00AM and later it felt very safe while we were walking. Even strolling in front of bars and loud areas we never felt uncomfortable.

The next morning we walked literally around the corner to the Conch Train Kiosk and bought tickets for the Conch Train, The Shipwreck Museum and the Hemingway house. The Hotel clerk suggested that we take the trolley but we booked the Conch Train. The Conch Train was narrated the entire time so even as you hop on and hop off for the attractions you are receiving a tour of the city of Key West. There was one free stop on the Train tour that we really enjoyed. I can't say enough about the Shipwreck Museum it was so much fun and informative, good for an entire family. The narrators are in period dress and really go out of their way to accommodate both adults and children. There is a tower with a fantastic view of the gulf. We never had to wait for the next "train" luck maybe? We were told once they would wait if they could but if another "train" came they had to move on to the next stop.

If your priority is location, the Almond Tree Inn is the best and I will be back!!
