My family rented two bedrm, two and half bath townhouse for two days. Hotel staff is excellent; property is a well kept tropical oasis with two beautiful pools. There are complimentary smoothies at pool bar all day, as well ascomplimentary wine and chips at happy hour. The units are very clean, bathroom are very modern and complimentary dove ice cream bars and chocolates added to the attractiveness of our stay. The property is one block from Southernmost Point and couldn,t be better situated for our stay.

Room Tip: Choose a unit, either one aor two bedroomj that overlooks the pools.

Great hotel, quiet but very close to the action. Service is very good. The staff is very accomodating and the location is easy to get in and out. Did not have dinner there, it is very close to all the good restaurants

The size of this hotel lends itself perfectly to individualized attention and pampering. All without pretense. Christie is a master of hospitality. Her warmth and good nature epitomize the island lifestyle. The atmosphere that is created by the staff and layout of the hotel and rooms makes you feel like you're staying with good friends. Christie, Wolfgang, Jodi: Well done!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 14. 4 balconies. Yes 4.

We hit Key West once a year, get different 4 star hotels most times, and know the comparative benefits of each. This time we were two couples and a "good extra man for dinner" needing a nice sofa bed. This property wants your business, even asking me to "write a Tripadvisor review", which means one thing: They understand they must aggressively compete for your patronage. Well groomed plant and assets is strategy one, with a designer 2 bedroom 2 bath suite in our case, on the meticulously landscaped twin pools deck, and secure parking. Then the motivated customer service kicks in, housekeeping set up the sofabed in the evening, and there were attendants everywhere to give you everything you want, from all-day fruit smoothies, to wine and hummus in the evenings, to gourmet muffins left in your suite.

The location is on the beach at the opposite end of the Duval Street party zone. Its a twenty minute picturesque and entertaining walk down Duval transitioning from the serene to raucous. The tradeoff for staying in the 4 stars down on Mallory Square is a walk on the sandy beaches a half block from the Santa Maria. It's exactly the same tradeoff you make in New Orleans, do you want to stay on Bourbon Street itself, or do want something quieter but nearby in the French Quarter? If you are going to Key West to party hard on Duval, this could be a tough drunk crawl back for you, or an easy cab, cart or rickshaw fare. But if you want to transition between both tourist worlds of Key West, then you cannot do better than the Santa Maria.

Room Tip: Study the room/suite selections on the hotel website before booking, there are a lot of choices.
