“Holiday Isle is a complete holiday destination.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2012

We have been coming to the Keys for years and Holiday Isle is one of our favorite places to relax. There are restaurants, a raw bar, a tiki bar and live music.
They have a beautiful beach and wonderful pool with room for everyone.

There is also a pool bar where the excellent refreshments a made and served by Kim.
She is a very nice and friendly gal with an uncanny knowledge of the area, things to do and places to see. We want to give her a special thanks for making our vacation eventful and fun.

This has to be the most perfectly located vacation area in the Keys. It is about the mid point between mainland Florida and Key West. With the information we receivedabout the keys, we were always close to one fun adventure or another.

Thank all of you. We'll be back....

Thank you for your kind words about Postcard Inn and one of our great bartenders, Kim! She is a big hit with our guests at the pool. A great source of information or just someone to share your thoughst with while relaxing in our abundant sunshine with a pina colada!

Come back often!

Just completed four night vacation with my wife and two boys (14 an 9). First, let me say this resort is very clean, no issues. If you can upgrade, the ocean front rooms are your best bet. Yes the resort is still performing upgrades, but so far so good. Your resort can be top notch, but if your staff is bad it will make for a bad experience. This was not the case, the staff and Rochelle at the front desk were great. We had a long drive from Fort Lauderdale and she took care of our needs.

Rooms: Lanai room was awesome. The only issue was the bathroom louvered window which you could total see through while taking a shower. That needs to be fixed.

Food: The food was okay. Not much in the area, BK is down the road for a cheaper breakfast. Food prices at the resort and other places in the area were similar.

Pool: The pool was nice and clean, with plenty of chairs. The staff kept the beach area clean all day and night. I understand the charge for the float rentals, but the umbrellas should be included in the resort fee, but not a big deal.

What to do: The resort is real low key, pool, sun and water are your options. Kids may be a little bored if they are not into fishing. However, you can fish from the pier or walk by the boat slips to the bridge and fish. You can also rent jet skis, paddle boats, etc.

Good vacation: Spent two 1/2 days fishing at Robbie's Party Boat for $40 per person. Night time is very quiet, they have a small game room and ping pong table for the kids. Otherwise, they may be a little bored.

Bars: World Famous Tiki Bar ( I would use World Famous very loosely-been to Jamaica, Mexico and visited better bars.)
Good hotel for the budget. Clean, friendly and professional staff. Overall very good vacation. If this was inclusive, you would feel like your in Mexico at a four star resort.

Thank you for sharing your comments on Trip Advisor, but more importantly, thank you for sharing your time and budget with us here at Postcard Inn at Holiday Isle. We appreciate your business and do hope that you will return often. I hope you and the boys had luck while fishing at Robbies. Try one of our guides at the marina next time. They will show your family an incredible time in the back country or deep water.

Hope to welcome you back soon.

We checked in with our two kids under 10 and was put in room 533 above the Tiki bar. I asked if the bar music would be a problem and was told no. We just got back from dinner and it's like we're at the show. So loud our kids can't sleep and we've got a big day. My wife called the desk and was basically told we should of seen some sign when we checked in. They blammed us....classic. I wish she would have said, 'you should have seen our kids!'. Worst start to our vaction.

Thank you for sharing your comments. I would like to extend my sincere apologies for the noise that your family experienced and the lack of empathy displayed when you called to announce the problem. This is neither typical nor condoned in any way.
I do hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you in the future. I promise it will be a much more satisfying experience!

Sincerely,

They've tried hard to revamp this hotel and make it kitschy and beachy, and they've done an ok job on it... The design of the rooms is nice and the tiki bar idea is cute. But they've kind of missed the mark a bit... The hallways are concrete so you can hear everything that happens in your hallway (doors slamming, people talking) magnified from your bed x 10. The ac units blow freezing air in your face when you sleep just to keep the room at a manageable level. And it also seems like they have about 4 bars all the same, which means not such a peaceful vaca atmosphere. Also no shade on the beach - which would be so easily fixed with umbrellas. I think they need some new management to iron out the quirks and a little more $$ invested... For $100/ $120 or less a night it's a fine deal but any more than that and you may be disappointed

Thank you for your constructive comments. We currently offer umbrella rentals on the beach to help with those who need some shade. We are aware of some of the AC units which blow directly on a few of the beds and are working to redirect the air so it doesn't blow on our guests. Our six bars are designed to provide our guests with a convenient location and unique view of the beautiful surroundings while enjoying their favorite libation.

Room: We arrived sometime around noon and Anthony, at the front desk checked us in right away. which was awesome. We had booked a King Lanai for 3 people directly with the hotel thinking a roll away bed would be available for our son. I was wrong, but no worries we were put in a Queen ocean side, room 228, which is awesome. I don't know if there is a price difference but will check into it when I get my bill. The room is (we're still here) clean, large, has a fridge, a flat screen tv, tile floor, comfortable beds and a beautiful view. There are two sinks one inside the bathroom and one just outside so two people can be getting ready at the same time. I have no complaints about our room, it's awesome. :)

Food: The Postcard Inn has several places to eat on site if you don't want to go anywhere. The food is good and easy to get. There is Shula Burger (which is mostly burgers), the Tiki Bar which is typical beach front fare and the Raw Bar (on the beach) which is mostly seafood with some typical bar food. All three are easy going with no dress code and reasonable prices. Breakfast can only be had at Shula Burger on site. We bought yogurt and fruit and kept that in our fridge for breakfast (I understand the King Lanai rooms do not have a fridge) and also ate at Mangrove Mike's for breakfast. We ate most of our dinners off site. A restaurant worth speaking about is Ziggie and Mad Dog's. It's pricey but well worth it.

The Beach: The Key's is not a beach place. If you're thinking you're going to come here and find soft silky sand you can sink your feet into, think again. Postcard Inn has what I think is a man made beach. The sand is rough. It's no surprise to me but I can see where some people may think this isn't what they thought they would be getting. The pool and beach are beautiful and clean. Here is my big and only complaint. Like one of the other guests said...shade comes at a premium. You have to pay $20 a day, cash, for an umbrella. There isn't really any shade on the beach so if you don't want to be in the sun the entire day be ready to pay. You can not charge it to your room.

Islamorada: We found the people in the area to be friendly and helpful. The hotel staff from the front desk with Anthony to beach security have been great. :)

The hotel caters to a wide range of people. There are families with teens, families with small children, older couples and young couples. I don't see any of the wild spring break crowd...thankfully. I think the Postcard Inn does a nice job having something for everyone.

We will come back to the Postcard Inn again.

Room Tip: Get an ocean view room. It's worth it.

Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us. Your observations were 100% correct when you said we now appeal to a nice cross section of people, with one thing in common. They are all looking for a relaxing, fun, and safe environment in which to enjoy all that the keys has to offer including our beautiful views and beaches, a refreshing cocktail or a great burger..

Come back soon!

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The king bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel staff is very friendly. The grounds are amazing. They have one of the best beaches in the keys. The pool area is beautiful. There are 3 bars on site. The Shula burger restaurant on site has great food as well. I would definitely stay there again.
