The resort is actually pretty good, but for the price, they need to clean it up a bit and update some broken facilities. There was a actually a huge party of us staying there and some rooms were better than others. The East side is newer and the rooms were all in great shape, but the West needs some tlc.

broken ironing boards, coffee makers not working, poor wifi, closet doors falling off and maids not cleaning were some of the problems voiced by our group.

The pools were all great though and the resort is a classic of Islamorada.

From the sunrises to the Guy Harvey artwork in the rooms everything is pleasing to the eye. We stayed four nights while attending the wedding of the daughter of a dear friend. The wedding and reception were held on the beach of the Resort and the evening was magical! Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and very comfortable. It included a kitchenette. The king sized bed was soft and the linens top quality all around. We enjoyed being able to park our car right outside of our room. The screened in porch and back yard area with lounge chairs was an added bonus. The high pitched ceilings gave the room a very open and roomy feel. Room service was excellent and our room was cleaned and re-stocked daily with clean towels. The pool area and pool bar are second to none; open and with a very nice view of the water. The fishing pier was nice for viewing the water but was a little to shallow for any serious fishing. The Resort is nicely located with nice restaurants nearby. We tried the breakfast buffet and were not disappointed; very reasonably priced with very good service. We brought our bikes and kayaks. There are nice bike paths throughout the island and we launched our kayaks right from the Resort's beach. One morning we paddled along the north shore and the next morning along the south shore; either way it was a nice adventure with some great spots to fish. We spotted some nice tarpon and a very large shark just 100 yards offshore. It was a very enjoyable four night stay and we look forward to returning soon. It is a wonderful place for a wedding!

Room Tip: Rooms away from the pool area are quieter.

We enjoyed our stay at the Islander, the grounds were clean, our oceanview lanai room was perfect for our party of three. Recently renovated, loved the screened in porch for towel drying, storing fishing - snorkeling gear. The pools were fabulous and the bar/grill served excellent lunch faire.. The Islander is a good place to stay when visiting the Keys, its centrally located, several bridges nearby for fishing, Channel 2 and 5. Lots of snorkeling-dive shops in the area, with several reefs nearby. Bahia Honda was 45-60 minutes away, great doable day trip. There are several restaurants close, along with The Trading Post down the street for groceries. Recommend dinner at Lazy Days, the Islamorada Fish Co and I wanted to try the Shrimp Shack, love the old school diners.

If we make it down far South again, we will certainly stay here!

This was our 2nd stay at the Islander! We loved loved loved it! Although there as so many things to do in Islamorada we rarely left the resort this time. Drinks and food at the pool bar are always amazing. The front desk was super helpful. We will be back!

This was quite a find. Located very close to the water, even the room that we had, which is the furthest from the water was only a short walk. I was bummed at first because it was the the furthest from the beach and the pool, but quickly got over it because: 1) It is right next to the office which served the best damn hotel coffee I have ever had and all day long (that is a big deal for us). 2) It was just far enough from the patio and pool to enjoy peace and quiet when you want it (the rooms closest to the pool/ patio/ breach are great but you are going to listen to the music and pool goers during the day. Not a big deal, but our room was only a 30 second walk to all the action. This place has a great private beach with incredible ocean views. The patio and pool areas have things going on most of the day, especially weekends. Both pools are big, and they have one for families and another for the drinkers. Great bar by the pool, there's a pier to walk out on and water sports on same beach. It is close to everything. If you are fan of the HBO special "Bloodline", the house is only a few hundred feet down the road. We were quite pleased overall.
