We loved Patty. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The pool was great. the grounds next to the hotel were very pretty as was the beach area. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and hang out at the pool this is it. It really must of been something in its hay day, now its just kind of tried and sad. There is no bar or grill. The marina has 4 boats in it , 3 look like they are about to sink. There are 3 out buildings1 was a jet ski rental the other 2?. All were falling apart and need to be torn down. Beach and oceanfront means 4 foot seawall with no water access.

Some of the other reviews complained of the property not being fully updated. While there is some merit to that...don't change a thing! This place is big, laid back, and super comfortable. It was perfect. You also get a discount at the restaurant down the street, tuna nachos are fantastic. We didn't get into the pool but it looks great. Patricia, the manager, is awesome. Great to talk with and very helpful. She's also the reason we will be going back. Apparently you can catch sharks off the pier too...next time.

Coconut Cove Resort and Marina served our purpose very well on the way back from key West, leaving very late and arriving at Isla Morada only by 9 pm. We received keys without problems, a recommendation for food and drinks (across the road, very much recommended) and the room was lovely. Next morning we had time to enjoy the pool area a little bit and explore the grounds, with their private access to the ocean. Staff was sprucing the premises up for a wedding, so they do that too! Nothing to complain about, a very useful option on the road in Islamorada and cheap in comparison with everything else in the vicinity

I have to post this review for no other reason than hoping no one else wastes their time or money. We attended a wedding this weekend at this place, we stayed here because the bride and groom had to book all the rooms or they would charged for them, so we took one for the team. It was awful. I've stayed in tent camps in the jungle with better amenities. The office looked like a junk yard. It doesn't matter if you're setting up for a wedding that weekend, I mean there was JUNK everywhere not wedding supplies. It is filthy. The staff are very un professional in their attire as well as their interaction. Everything was dilapidated and dirty. Black mold all over the building, piles of junk under the building in plain sight. The rooms were atrocious. The bath towels smelled like cigarettes. The doors, walls and carpet were filthy. The "amazing pool" is a joke. Lounge chairs covered in mold, bird droppings around the pool, and a cracked bucket of cement that is supposed to be an umbrella stand, if they had any umbrellas.
Yes there is a nice view, but where isn't there a nice view in the keys if your standing at the waters edge?
In the dark with string lights lit you can almost imagine its lovely. The bride provided beautiful hand made touches everywhere that really enhanced the overall reception area. The actual ceremony facing the water was beautiful. The dj was very good. The bartenders that were provided didn't know simple drink recipes (and I'm pretty sure he was drunk). The food provided by the venue catering was inedible.
Fortunately, the couple have a wonderful family and fantastic friends that made the weekend extra special. We danced all night under a clear sky and got to celebrate this special occasion with wonderful people and that's what really matters!
Just do it someplace else . . .

That website photos are well-framed, to exclude the eye sores that are all over this property.

The office and reception room were hoarded floor to ceiling with boxes and crap.

No morning coffee, nada. Rooms do have coffee makers but it would be nice to have a communal setup down by the pool.

Had to move rooms to find one more acceptable. Even then we had to clean the floor ourselves to make it livable. We tried hard to find another hotel but were unable.

The staff tries hard but the property is beyond tired.

I am sorry you were not satisfied with. The resort. The office had boxes because we had a wedding and we were getting things ready for that. We do not claim to be a five star resort but we do give a five star experience. We are not manicured lawns but our rooms are clean and I do apologize for the floor, but it is marble so we do not use heavy detergents on them so we can preserve the beauty of the marble. But we do appreciate your feedback and sorry we did not meet your expectations

I hate to give a "bad" review, particularly when the manager Patty is SUPER nice, but I think its important that people understand what they are getting. This is no resort. It is a lovely piece of property with incredible potential that has clearly received no attention in possibly decades. The rooms are indeed clean, but very old dated furniture/decor--like early 70s. The tiki bar is non-operational. You can sit at it and bring your own stuff I guess. There is no grill, no food at all available. There is coffee available in the office (at 9:07 when staff gets in) and I believe this is where the old grill may have been and its just piled with old junk and clutter. But if you have not figured it out yet, The Keys in season are very expensive--so this is what you get for these "lower" prices of around $250 a night. Also, if you are looking for one night on a weekend most other places require 2, so this is what you may have to settle for. I honestly would not return here unless i had no other choice...

I thank you for taking the time to review the property. And we do value the insight we receive from our guest. We do have older Captains Cottages that are older but we do maintain them and try to keep them more modern when we can. But we do have a resort that is like having 2 resorts in 1 in our building behind the office we have rooms that are more modern and have a queen and a roll away with a Jacuzzi bathtub and tile floors with a view of the property. So if you would like maybe next time your in the area you can take a look at one of those and they would be more to your liking. Again I am sorry if you were not completely satisfied and give us a chance to make it up to you
