We stayed at a 2 bedroom condo, 1st floor, with the pool area and clubhouse a few steps away. Our location was perfect with two small children in tow. No steps to climb, and the pool just steps away. The kids loved the pool because they didn't have any steps to deal with getting in or out of it. You just walk right in to it... The grounds were clean, and the condo was clean and beautifully decorated with internet, TV's in the living room and both bedrooms, and all the linens and kitchen supplies we needed. Nice screened in lanai. Very short drive to Disney, shopping and restaurants. All this for a VERY reasonable price. We travel to the Disney area at least twice a year, and have stayed at other vacation condo's and homes. The others charged more, and I wasn't as impressed. My family would definitely stay at Legacy again!

Room Tip: No elevators, ask for fist floor close to clubhouse, or you will have to pile in the car to get to t...

Now my grown children who we came to disney to meet up with always swear that you must stay onsite at WDW...but visiting us about 5 miles away at Legacy Dunes may have changed their minds.

You can pay 230 for a night at Disneys French Quarter for all the ammenities of a Motel 6, or you can stay at Legacy Dunes with 2 BR, 2 Bath, kitchen, livroom, balcony view and laundry, flat screen TV, free wireless for $89. a night.

We came to this area to watch Spring training (high school) baseball at ESPN, and we were five miles away. Daughter at French quarter had to drive as far!

This condo is everything previous reviews say it is...in a gated community just past the "glitter strip" of high way 192. Plenty of places to eat on 192--including fast food, and a Walgreen too. So was very convenient the two days we drove into Disney.

Expect to pay a cleaning fee if your stay is less than 4 days...this is understandable IMHO. You get in the first time by dialing a gate code that was sent to you which calls the owner/manager so he can buzz you in.

Ours didn't work..but all was fixed in short order when we made the phone call to the number that comes with your reservation paperwork. And I believe him that it was a phone system upgrade glitch.

I used the pool and it was lovely and uncrowded.

We will stay here again. ( And I bet my kids do too!)

Room Tip: We stayed in 14-206. First bldg past gate and easy walk to pool. Room at the top of the stairs.

Great time at Legacy Dunes. Wonderful stay in clean and well appointed condo complete with washer/dryer. Appreciated wireless internet for internet search and skype. Immaculate grounds and clean pool and surroundings. Quiet condo. Convenient to Disney World; shopping; groceries; attractions yet conveniently setback from the busy road. Well-equipped fitness center. Very co-operative and helpful rental agent. Friendly atmosphere. Look forward to our return in the near future.

Legacy Dunes is an upper class gated community consisting of buildings containing 24 units each. www.GoDisneyVacation.com is a company that manages some of the units in these buildings and rents them out to Orlando-bound travellers.

Our family of four (children aged 10 & 7) rented the "Two Master Suites" condo for 8 nights. It was a perfect choice. The unit was very clean and stylishly furnished. The unit contained new looking fridge (with large freezer), oven with flat top range, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, dishwasher, clothes washer, and dryer. All the appliances were full size and easy to operate. The main bedroom contained a Queen bed, full bath, HD TV, and large walk-in closet. The secondary bedroom also contained all of the above, with the bed being a double.

The living room contained a nice couch (which doubled as a hide-a-bed for those who needed more sleeping space), two comfortable plush chairs, coffee table, HD TV, DVD player, and CD/stereo player.

The dining area was nicely sized with a modern table and four chairs. The kitchen area also contained two stools and an elevated "bar type" eating area, as well. In addition, a large selection of dishes, various bowls, cutlery, utensils, drinking glasses (regular, wine, beer, coffee mugs), pots, pans, preparation bowls, dish cloths, dish towels, and pasta strainer were all provided. The large laundry room was separate (with a door) and contained ironing board, iron, broom, dustpan, and a small portable cooler (good for travelling with cold drinks) in addition to the washer and dryer.

The two full sized bathrooms contained lots of face cloths and towels. There was a combined bathtub and shower in each bathroom.

Our unit also came with a fully covered and very private small patio. The patio contained a table and two chairs. Two portable chairs were also provided.

Finally, the large pool area was gorgeous. Nicely designed with lots of full-size loungers that you could either sit up or lay flat on. Lots of sun and shade areas available as well. The pool area also had a rare "beach-style" entry point at one end. Very good for children, as they could simply wade in to the pool area just as they would at the beach.

The whole complex felt extremely safe. This gated community is set about 1/4 mile back from the road behind a large grove of trees and is very quiet and private. It's still convenient, however, as there is a Publix grocery store less than a 5 minute drive away. There is also a larger Publix as well as a Super Target and Wal-Mart about less than 10 minutes away. We especially loved this, because we ate all but one meal at our condo and prepared sandwiches, snacks, and drinks for the parks everyday. By doing this, we figured our family of four saved close to $1,000 on food.

The other great advantage of a condo was that our family was not sitting in a cramped hotel room for 8 nights. The kids loved being able to decompress by watching their favorite DVDs, hanging out at the pool area, or taking advatage of the free wireless internet. We parents enjoyed being able to sneak into one of the bedrooms and take a quiet nap.

The unit was fully air-conditioned and each room contained a ceiling fan as well. Finally, Anthony of GoDisneyVacation.com was always so helpful. In the months leading up to our trip, I e-mailed him several times with questions. He must be a big fan of iPhones or BlackBerrys or something, because, it seemed like he always answered within 5 minutes. We never dealt with Scott, but he was also available by telephone or text, if we had any questions.

For those who don't know, Kissimmee is an Orlando suburb that is actually CLOSER to Disney World than most of the hotel areas of Orlando. It is also much less crowded and less expensive.

Finally, since you're a fan of TripAdvisor, you already know how good it is when searching out accomodation (that's how I found this place). To book here just go to the GoDisneyVacation.com website, the pictures of whole Legacy Dunes property and this unit were exactly what we found when we arrived in person. If we have any friends heading to Disney World, Universal, etc., we will be highly recommending this place to them.

This was our family of four (kids 5&9) first stay at Legacy Dunes. We were looking for a condo that was reasonably priced. We were planning to stay all day in the parks and just wanted a clean, comfortable place to spend the night that had a pool for the girls to swim in. We found it here at LD! We arrived late in the evening on our first night, but it was easy to find with our GPS. After a few minutes trying to figure out the security gate we made it to our 2nd floor (2 bedroom) condo which was well lit and we felt safe. The condo layout is spacious and the washer and dryer was a big hit! I especially loved the big screen tv's and the private balcony overlooking the pond.
We stayed for 6 days here and didn't regret it. The girls loved the pool which wasn't heated when we were there, but I read it is heated now. We had the pool to ourselves 90% of the time! No lifeguard on duty but the pool is a zero entry style and well laid out.
Our only difficulty the entire stay was one eventing when returning from Disney and we couldn't get into our room because the battery on the electric door lock failed (at midnight). I called the number provided to us and left a message. Anthony called me back within a few minutes and told us over the phone how to get in - no problem.
I would recommend this place to those who are looking for an alternative to a hotel/motel. The price was very reasonable which attracted us to this place to begin with. The grounds are well kept and there is a huge super Target right down the street and only 8 minutes from Animal Kingdom (if you know what you're doing). If the kids don't like swimming there isn't much else for them to do but our kids love the water so they were happy - and so were we.

Our month-long stay at Legacy Dunes was very enjoyable. Beautiful grounds, well equipped condo poolside, convenient to shopping and Disney World. Very friendly atmosphere, too. We took full advantage of the fitness center and the now- heated pool! Try it !

As this was our 1st family vacation we were nervious about what to expect! All our worries were put to rest when we pulled up to the resort! The condo that we rented was the 2 bedroom Simbas pride condo, and it suited our needs perfectly. It was clean, spacious and very inviting! The gounds of the resort were in the same impecable condition as the condo. From the pool and weight room to the exceptionally friendly people. It was also in very close proximity to Disney, grocery stores and restaurants. Also I'd like to mention the rental company; they were fantastic and made this experience so easy and enjoyable. We will definatly be renting at this resort again in the upcoming year. To be honest i will not stay at a hotel in these parts again!
