We got a suite to share with family - very spacious, great kitchen. We love to cook for ourselves, and this kitchen was adequately stocked and ready to go. The resort has 3 pools, including the main on with hot tub & poolside cabana with a small restaurant and bar. Decently stocked store, with breakfast, lunch, and snack foods, including 10 flavors of Ice Cream cones. It is RIGHT next to Animal Kingdom, and not far from the rest of Disney and Universal Studios.

Room Tip: Bigger units have extras like laundry, hot tub, double bathrooms. Daily room cleaning is not included, but is available if needed.

Sometimes smaller is better. Not as large as some of the other resorts we have stayed at which is nice. You are close to any of the pools from any of the buildings you stay in. Great food at the Tiki Bar and a nice little convenience store by the office. We have stayed there twice and will be going back next year.

We came to view the resort as a time share promotion. No we did not purchase but love every aspect of Silver Lake.Just returned after a week at this friendly, clean resort. The amenities were so numerous. Huge pools, actually 3 of them, hot tub, arcade, movie theatre, state of the art gym, just to name a few. What was outstanding was the treatment we received by every single staff member. Housekeeping had our unit spotless on arrival. The only tiny complaint were the sheets are so stiff, almost like starch. Pillows are very hard too. Other positives, the Cabana Grill, located right next to the pool was excellent. It was clean, a great menu, drinks were so good. Ask for the miami vice. Happy hour prices were so reasonable at $5.50 for a frozen drink. We ate twice for dinner. The grouper dinner at $7.95 cannot be beat. The girls working the cabana were just so friendly.
Pools were clean as were all of the grounds. Proximity to parks Animal Kingdom was 1 mile, about 3 minutes and the other parks 9 minutes. Every night from our room (we had the new building 1900 which was amazing) we could see the Magic Kingdom fireworks. I can go on and on about this resort and we just loved every single moment. Thanks to the staff at Silver Lake for being so friendly. Try to smile at every single worker and see what happens. Maybe this is why they were all so friendly to us.

My family of 3 stayed in a 1 bedroom unit. I traded into this "Gold Crown" resort through RCI. We were disappointed from the time we drove through the front gate. Over grown foliage, over flowing dumpsters and large storage containers throughout the property. We arrived prior to the stated checkin time after driving all night and we were greeted by a less than friendly front desk staff. Very rude and short with us. We were told that our room would not be ready for 4 hours and to come back then. Followed their instructions and returned at 4:30pm....got our room assignment and went there. Room was still being cleaned and door was broken. Once able to get into our room it was extremely small! Smaller than any other 1 bedroom timeshare I have ever stayed in. The oven would not even fit a standard pizza pan. No dishwasher and housekeeping requests you do all your dishes prior to leaving. Our view was of a swamp. Pool was filthy dirty and the concrete stained with rust. Daily loud construction prior to 8am. If you returned from the parks late at night, there was no parking to be had in close proximity to our building. The only thing this resort has going for it is it's location.
