When literally wandering around on a warm ‘Fall’ night as our intended destination was permanently closed, we ended up at Cocomo’s Grill due to aroma of garlic. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. We did glance at the special board, which we ended up ordering the appetizer specials. As far as the menu, it had numerous items and most sounded very good. Carmen, our server, greeted us with a warm smile and provided many insights about various selections and drinks too. We had a margarita and Jerry’s Iced Tea. Both were fabulous and hit the spot after a long day of traveling. The entrees include a house or Caesar salad. We both opted for the Caesar as they boasted about their homemade dressings. Best Caesar dressing we have had in years. As far as the appetizers, we opted for the daily specials of She Crab soup and the crab cakes. So many restaurants serve a bowl of reduced cream with stock added. Not the case here as the bowl was full of crab, which was a pleasant surprise. It was not overwhelmed with sherry and a perfect choice for a starter. The two large crab cakes, and we mean large, had a lovely bistro style sauce and complimented the crab versus overtake them. The salads we barely finished when our entrees arrive. The Grouper Luis was a nice blackened grouper filet topped with a crab cake and chipotle key lime butter sauce. This entree also had the choice of a side dish, which we chose the steamed broccoli. A fantastic plate. The second entree was the shrimp scampi. Billed as ‘not like your grandma made’, this intrigued us. The overall dish was very good, except one ingredient did not fit. Carmen was quick to react to this. The owner then came to the table to make sure everything was alright and agreed on the ingredient not fitting into the dish and resolved the issue quickly. Unfortunately, dessert was not an option as we had no room left. We will make a return trip during our stay and ask for Carmen. Also keep in mind that they offer ‘You hook it, We’ll cook it’ for all you avid fishing fans.

A huge variety of food so good when with a lot of people. Service was quick, portions huge and drink specials. They even had a games room with arcade games. I would recommend.

Saw the restaurant as we passed by, decided to return for supper. Great atmosphere, great food and a large menu. Specialty drinks were terrific. Laszlo was our server and he was excellent!

Cocomo's was our first stop back in 1994 when we purchased our home on Marco. It was then and now one of the best casual spots to dine. Great food and service. Hog fish is the main delight, but if you prefer Vietnamese or Italian you can get it. here.

Small casual dining place. Very family friendly. Has a game room to keep the kids busy. It’s a bit noisy so if you are looking for a place to talk, this wouldn’t be the place. The food was good but it didn’t overshadow the noise.
