We just got back from a great trip to the JW Marco Island. We had an ocean view room on the third floor on the spa side which was very quiet. We loved everything about our trip. These are the highlights.
1. As platinum elite we were able to get the breakfast at Maia for free. You can upgrade It to the hot food items for an additional 10. It was a steal! The food is amazing!! We woke up each morning craving it.
2. The beach is big and clean and amazing. You can get chairs and umbrella with your resort fee
3. There are two pools. The big main pool is a mix of adults and kids but it has more of a party vibe. Kids are welcome and there are usually left behind tubes to use. We also found some leftover sand buckets to borrow.
4. The new lanai tower has 10k alley which is basically a mini dave and busters. They have a restaurant and bar. Our kids loved the games and earning tickets for small toys. They have mini bowling, virtual sports and mini golf. The menu was somewhat limited. I think they can tweak it a little bit.
5. The new lanai tower looks very nice. It will be adults only so maybe a good couple’s getaway in the near future. I hear the rooms are magnificent but I couldn’t get inside to see one.
6. Service was great. My kids got stuffed animals from the bell man for no reason. They hand out ice pops at 2pm at the kid pool each day. Everyone we interacted with was helpful and went above and beyond. It made our vacation very special
7. My kids loved the fire dancer at sunset. They asked for it every night.

Hoping we will make it back some time again. Its a magical place.

JW is perfect for a weekend getaway. We drove from the east coast to the west and fell in love with Marco Island. The JW is very nice and big. Would love to stay in the newer part when it opens. My husband is an elite platinum something something member, so they upgraded our room to have a pool/gulf view. We faced the family pool which was nice during the day, but was still a bit noisy until 10-11. We arent those people to complain too much because we understand everyone is having their own fun away. The walls a pretty thin though. We definitely heard the children of the family next door as I'm sure they heard our son crying. If you take a full size pack and play it is definitely a tight squeeze with a suitcase and duffel bag and umbrella stroller. So if you can try to pack light :/.

the resort is pristine though and we enjoyed walking around the grounds. We saw dolphins from our room close to sunset. All the restaurants were really good as well. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Can’t go wrong with this hotel. The staff goes out of their way for their guests. The grounds are beautiful and clean, the rooms are spacious, upgraded and clean and the linens are soft. Only ate at one outdoor restaurant for lunch and the food was very good. The hotel is beautiful for both business events and vacations. The beach is huge and not crowded in front of this resort and we were always able to get chairs around the pool any time of day. They also have poolside wait staff, no need to even move from your chair!! I don’t have anything negative to say about this location!

We spent five days at JW Marriott, in 8th floor, Gulf-facing luxury. The view of the Gulf and the white beach was salve to these Colorado travelers trying to postpone the coming winter. Of course the room was perfect, and we spent a fair amount of time on the balcony, mesmerized. There is a lot to do at this resort. On two separate days, we rented a Hobie 16 and flew through warm waters. I'm sure we hit a PR fastest in a sailboat.
Another day we chartered a catamaran and lounged with Capt. Shannon at the tiller. She took us out for casual sailing and was an excellent conversationalist as well.
The beach is superlong and excellent for a brisk walk or jog.
After an activity, we really enjoyed Quinn's for a light lunch and a beer.
As I write this, I'm in Colorado. It is snowing.
I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Room tip: Get a Gulf-view room, high.
