Description: Tucked away in the northern most point of Old Marco is Cafe de Marco. An intimate bistro/cafe serving the most diverse selection of fresh seafood & other continental specialties since 1983. A favorite amongst locals & seasonal return visitors to Marco Island. Reservations are greatly appreciated. Olde Florida atmosphere in the historic district of Olde Marco. Perfect for an outstanding meal, business, or special occasion. Vast wine selection and beer available. Twilight specials and children's menu available. Owned and operated by same owner & family since starting out in 1983. Our building enjoys a rich piece of Marco history. The Cafe's building was the original quarters for the chamber maids employed by the historic Old Marco Inn just a few yards away. Many years ago the Inn functioned as a "bed & breakfast", and the maids would simply walk to work from our building. This explains the answer to a frequently asked question..."Was this an old house at one time?" Today, step inside to what has been transformed into an islander's tradition for over 30 years. We look forward to serving you soon! ~Sandy Franchino, Owner

My husband and I visited this restaurant almost 30 years ago when our daughter was an infant. When we saw an advertisement for it saying they were having meals on Thursdays priced as they were 30 years ago- Throwback Thursday - we knew we had to go back,,, and we weren’t disappointed. I tried one of the Thursday specials - blackened mahi mahi and t was delicious. My husband ordered one
of the $20 summer specials- a seafood scampi.... also very good. The dinner salads were fresh and huge and the rolls and homemade butter were warm and delicious.
Our waiter was very helpful in the decision making process. Joe really wanted us to have a good experience and he certainly did. We will definitely be back!

We got recommended this place from JW Marriott. We were told that is outside seating on a terrace. Well it it’s an old hot patio , In a parking lot . We moved inside to a slanted dinning room. We then review a wine list with white out and hand written prices on it !?? And out of a bit of it. Famous for prawns ? Eh ? Server says perhaps they are frozen from else where.???, Husband wants to order rack of lamb. “Where is it from” ? Please ask the chef ? We do not really have a chef but I will find out.? Needless to say .. we were polite. Had some “famous “ bisque . Which we had beforehand now just tastes like warmed up premade. Saying you have served recipes since 1983 may say its time
To update....

On vacation on Marco Island recently we wanted to find a nice local seafood restaurant so we came here. It is kind of an old house with an interesting history. It also smelled kind of musty but the smell was not even noticeable after a short time. After being greeted by our waitress Carol who was very pleasant and informative , she told me the lobster bisque was the best in the universe so I ordered it to see if she was close to being right. I love lobster bisque. She also recommended the prawn meal which they are know for so when in Rome. My wife ordered the catch of the day which was mahi mahi. They both came with nice salads. Shortly my lobster bisque came, and although I have not been all over the universe, it certainly was one of the best on this planet. Salads came next and then my prawn. It came in 4 big pieces ( about a pound) and wow were they good. Tender ,sweet, huge and delicious. Best 46 dollars I have spent in a long time. My wife loved her meal also. Didn't try desert because I didn't think I would live thru it. A must go.

I’ve been here a number of times. The last two times we got late reservations and midway through dinner the staff is cleaning up. Kind of annoying to feel like you are keeping everyone from leaving but if that’s the case then don’t give us an 845 reservation. My son had the signature prawn dish. You really have to love shrimp because they are huge. Too big if you ask him (or me). Tables are also jammed in here pretty tight.
