Arrived Friday afternoon and enjoyed the area for the short weekend and left by checkout. Pine Island to the west of Matlacha is sleepy with a few restaurant/bars that offer decent food and good laughs. The "grounds" are nice and well kept. Even though the space is limited, we did not feel cramped. We would consider returning.

Sugar Sands Beach RV Resort is truly paradise found !
The owners are very friendly & accommodating . They care that you're happy & enjoying your stay .
There is a lot to do here ; Stand up paddle boarding , kayaking , paddle boating , & of course - fishing ! Sugar Sands provides two kayaks & a paddle boat for your use ! There are fishing poles here , too , & a looks like new pier with water & a place to clean your catch !
If you just want to relax & enjoy the beautiful Matlacha Pass view , with occasional dolphin , manatee , & various species of fish & birds , they've got that covered , too ! There are many nice seating areas to enjoy , such as a tiki bar three large outdoor tables with comfy chairs , firepit with chairs , hammock , double Adirondack chain by the water's edge , clubhouse that opens up to the water with a tv , radio , foosball table , card table , bar , darts , bathroom , kitchen , couches & chairs . If that wasn't enough , you can pull up your own chair !
There is a very nice washer & dryer for your use .
The specialty shops , restaurants & bars are in walking distance of the campground .
Matlacha Park is close by for the kiddos or to launch your boat .
The palm trees & lush tropical foliage is lovely to look at .
Full hook ups were great , with 50 amp service . Parking a 45 ft rv - no problem.
There is a gas grill on site . Phone reception was strong . We had a wonderful week , & can't wait to come back ! Thank you , Sugar Sands Beach RV !
Resort !

We just returned home from Sugar Sand Beach RV Resort and couldn't have had a better time. This RV spot has lovely water views and is smack dab in the middle of the adorable little town of Matlacha. Many great restaurants and shops are within short walking distance. Fun fun fun! Also, the people are lovely! The only little negative (and this has nothing to do with this resort) is that we are covered in bites from the dreaded "noseeum" bugs. Be sure to bring some DEET and you'll have a wonderful time!!!! We can't wait to head back to Sugar Sand Beach Resort!

Fantastic little hideaway! Great hookups, awesome staff and amazing views! The drive is gravel, but community area is white sugar sand. Electric, water, cable and WiFi hookups. Public washer/dryer and bathroom. No showers. Fishing dock is amazing! Kayaks available for your use! Fire pit was beautiful! Hammock is relaxing! You MUST eat at Miceli's during your stay as well!! Overall, great weekend getaway!
