“Stayed one night-nice spot!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2012

I stayed here for one night before a cruise. As soon as I arrived I was greeted and had my bags taken from the taxi and brought to the check in. Checking in was a breeze and I was given a huge room with 2 Queens beds and a small balcony on an upper floor. The beds were heaven. The bathroom was very nice. My friends and I headed down to the bar for happy hour. Very good service and they have a beautiful outdoor area. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and were initially shocked at the prices on the dinner menu, so the server gave us a less expensive menu with lighter fare, burgers, sandwiches, etc. They had really good fries, or maybe I was drunk and starving...either way, I enjoyed my stay here even though it was not for very long. Its a good place to stay if youre leaving the port of Miami.

This was a great choice to stay. We had just come back from our cruise and stayed here for the 5 days were we extend our vacation in Miami.
We had friends with teens and young children who stayed at the four seasons - great if you only love the beach, and The Shelly- good for a over dressed room on the beach and fine shopping areas.
we went with what we know...a Marriott!!!
The Biscayne Bay was
* close to the People movers ( free train) wonderful! can get around without a car or taxi
* close enough to south beach- 5-10 min ride in taxi or 20- min ride on public trans
* close to Bayside- a great place for families with "teens", great shopping ( with any budget) food places were great!...Gotta go to Bubba Gumps! the mgr Aubrey and waiter Dan were awesome!!! nightly entertainment...and good ice cream spots for those hot nights!
* close to the American Arena- Go Miami Heat!!- D Wade, and Labrone!!! and yeah Bosh too!!!!
Ok, Ok,...so back to the hotel; the info above was free info for ya!....lol

so the hotel was clean and the service was good.
Pool was clean, rather small but it seem to work out everyday for the young and old. houskeeping was a little slow on days but, hey...Im on vacation!
.....BUT there was ONE thing....they never mentioned the hotel was going to be under construction when we booked!!!!!!!!!!! not too much nosie or real problems...but you would think that they would let you know and once there....give you a perk...like contin breakfast during the week or something....at any rate the breakfast was a little pricey ($18pp) so we found the cute little mall under the hotel which connects the Maririott to the Double tree ( another great hotel- a conversation for another blog...lol)
There we found a variety of stores and food places ( a wonderful Argentine and Uruguay spot)
IMPORTANT*****The guys who are working the golf carts at the Marriott Biscayne Bay -they transport you to the lower levels and do bagagge; due to the construction they are really helpful!!! and a better deal than the city tour guides They were AWESOME!!! (Thanks guys)

Spent a weekend in Miami over Easter and had a pretty good stay. The room was really for sleeping and little else as we were interested in shopping in the day and clubbing in the night. Room was comfortable, bed extremely comfortable...so much so we overslept on the morning of checkout. On site parking available and the rate is pretty much like everyone else's. Lobby nicely done. On site dining options limited though, but Primo's restaurant located outside of the hotel but in the same building as the hotel had excellent meals available late in the night. Seemed to be a popular base for cruisers, and it would make sense given its location. Opted to travel via cab to party on South Beach which made sense and was a $15 trip. I would defiinitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the water is a great vista.

I was hesitating between Very good or average but I chose the first due to the quality of service and how eager the staff was to solve problems. The hotel is comfortable, rooms are average size and clean and location is a plus. If you are into jogging, the venetian causeway is around the corner and it is a fantastic route, the pool is nice and the fitness rooms are rather good.
There was a bit of confusion on my bill and one day staff forgot to clean the room, they fixed all problems quickly and with a smile.
Don't forget to try the restaurant downstairs, very good and a big plus is that they are installing wifi in all rooms now.

Room Tip: try to get a room facing the bay, not the pool

South beach can be overrated. I prefer not to stay at a boutique hotel on Ocean Dr or Collins Ave nor do I want to pay the ridiculous rates found on Miami beach.

Not quite a Category 6 to me. The lobby is large, loud, but very inviting and modern. The front staff can be a little more excited to see me, but I can understand it was that busy part of the evening where they get overwhelmed with check-in and needy foreign tourists.

I got a corner room #2003 with a fantastic view of the bay and the condo next door. Large room, comfortable king bed. Very clean. Bathroom a tad small, but we only used it to shower and stuff. Best part was a small balcony with two chairs to enjoy the beautiful sunrise.

If you are an Elite and have access to the Exec lounge, you're in luck. They have apps and pastries in the evening and the morning breakfast spread is extremely impressive. If you don't have access, there is breakfast and starbux downstairs.

Didn't get to use the pools since South Beach is a short and convenient 10 min drive.
Self Parking is $24 per night so no surprise.

Overall, an very enjoyable stay, worth my 30,000 points.

In town for a buddy's wedding, decent stay, nice view. Had some trouble and confusion w/ front desk regarding rewards program. Otherwise would stay again
