“Great Hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

We spent 6 nights in this hotel last february and we were pretty much satisfied. Location is unbeatable if you are planning to stay in Miami downtown. It is within walking distance to Bayside(a shopping mall) and, if you do not want to walk, you can take the MetroMover just one block away(Knight Center Station).
The hotel itself is very comfortable, with spacious rooms and clean bathrooms.
Staff is incredibly kind and helpful, they provided us with every single piece of information we requested.
Last and very important for us as we rented a car during our stay, the hotel can arrange parking if you need($15,00 a day).
Only con was breakfast, very poor.
All in all, a great hotel and i would definitely recommend it!

It's not the Intercontinental or the Conrad, but neither are the prices. If you want the Miami scene, this shouldn't be your choice. I stayed one night for business and could not have encountered a friendlier staff in a big city. The rooms are average, but mostly neat and clean. You have easy access to anything downtown, including the morning traffic noise. All in a all, a fairly decent hotel

We checked in late at night and the only available suite was room 214which is adjacent to the air handling units. There were no other suites sowe had to deal with it because I didn't want the kids in a separate room. The hotel staff was very gracious and gave us 1 night free which was a pleasant surprise

Stayed one night for business. This Courtyard by Marriott, as I heard, used to be a Howard Johnson so I didn't expect it to be anything but okay. Check in was swift and I was offered complimentary drink and snacks at the frontdesk. The room was clean and of good size with standard amenities you would expect from a Courtyard hotel. Next to the hotel was a big construction site but it didn't bother me as I stayed there only at night. Parking was easy as the hotel had its own multi-storey garage (paid). The room price was a bit high considering the hotel class and the season.

PS: The hotel did not provide umbrellas so do bring yours in the rainy season.

This was a pre and post cruise stay for a mother and daughter trip..Overall I would rate it good...A little pricey but it was clean, convenient and fit its purpose...

The Pros :
Free shuttle to the Port of miami cruise ships. If you choose a cab it is approx 7 dollars. 5 walking blocks to Biscayne bay and Marina, with restaurants and shops..10 minute drive from Miami international airport.. 3 blocks from the Convention Center.. Rooms were clean and average size...Honored my request for early check in and a late check out..Which is rare for chain hotels..Decent pool size..

The Cons : Inside the hotel there is only one restaurant "La Bistro"..Only breakfast is good and it is a litlle pricey for bad food... 2 blocks from I-95 which could be good or bad depending if you are driving or not...If you are, it"s great access..If not, the noise and traffic can be annoying.

An honorable mention to the front desk employee named Anthony...Very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and courteous..

Room Tip: rooms on the south side are noisier

We stayed at this hotel after our cruise. I thought staying downtown would be convenient for the activities we wanted to do after the cruise. The lobby is really nice and looks like it has been renovated lately. The restaurant was pretty good with okay prices.

The room was not the greatest as we were on a lower level and the noise from the air conditioning units was considerable. The deck door was paper thin and the road noise was loud too. Also the rooms are controlled by the motel style wall units that do not really ever get to the right temperature and are noisy when running.

The service was quite good and our check in and out was good. When we first checked in the door would not lock properly and the maintenance staff was helpful.

The hotel manager said that they would be getting major renovations soon so perhaps the rooms will be quieter. I cannot recommend a stay in this hotel, but it was okay. Be aware that you will have a $15/day charge for parking.

Room Tip: Do not get a room on the lower levels or near the road side of the hotel.

Nice hotel in the middle of downtown Miami. I don't like Miami so I won't hold that against the hotel. We had a suite at the end of the hotel closest to the entrance to I-95. Not a good idea. Apparently in Miami, they don't need mufflers on cars and motorcycles. The noise of these vehicles starting up the ramp and warp speed was unbearable. Even my hard-of-hearing husband could hear them! They woke us up early in the morning gunning their engines as they raced by. Stay at the other end of the hotel! We got there around 3:30. The Bistro restaurant was closed. So we ate from their little grocery area. I had a frozen small meal, hubby had a tuna sandwich and we each had a drink. The sandwich was soggy on one side - no, WET!! Took it back. Over $30 for this. In the morning, we went to the Bistro for breakfast. You stood in a line like a fast food restaurant. They wanted $10 just for scrambled eggs and biscuit. That's not including coffee or juice! Then we would have had to eat off of styrafoam and use plastic utensils. So for probably over $30 it just wasn't appealing to us. We ate after we got on the turnpike to head home! Room total cost with parking was around $265. We should have had a waiter and good restaurant service for that price!
Staff was nice. One guest complained that there was no beach! Hello!!! It's in the middle of downtown Miami! The guy at the counter was very nice and explained how to get to the beach. Credit for not laughing at this man!
I hope to never have to go to Miami again so I can't say I'd stay here again. But I guess if I was forced to visit the area, I would stay here but at the other end of the hotel away from the noise.

Room Tip: Away from the entrance ramp to I-95 unless you don't hear very well. The noise from vehicles wi...
