A great hotel in South Beach. Situated on a quiet street 5 minutes walk from Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive.
The ladies on reception were fabulous, Martha went out of her way every day to chat and check that everything was going well. They organised trips for us too, which were great!
The room was large, airy and very clean and the air conditioning worked really well in the hot weather. The breakfast was limited but it was just what we needed to start the day with plenty of coffee to help yourself too and a really nice patio to eat at.
All in all a great place to stay to explore Miami.

Okay, so why 5 stars and a but? - that doesnt make any sense!

Well.. heres why:

We where in Miami for 3 nights, purpose? - to see miami, miami beach and take it all in!

For this, Villa Italia is P.E.R.F.E.C.T!

We where met by a staff so sweet and helpful. And our room was big, clean and well managed!

Also, the location of this hotel is fantastic! - it is 3 minutes from the beach, and 5-10 minutes walk to the party hub of Miami beach. BUT ALSO at a quite side street, so no partying right outside your window all night (Which was a concern for us)

So far so good, well it only gets better!

We accidentally mentioned that we where on our honeymoon, they of course congratulated us, and that was that.
Later they asked if they could check our rooms air condition, just to see that it worked properly. You see, we had a sign on our door saying that we didn't want housekeeping. We of course said that it was fine.

Later, coming back from a walk, we found a bottle of champagne, two glasses and a congratulations card at our room (Those sneaking little things!)

If that is not thoughtful and sweet, i do not know what is!

Breakfast included saved us a bunch of money, and was a-ok (just don't expect four different types of eggs or coffee)

So why the but?!

I would chose this hotel if you are like us, you need a clean, safe and friendly hotel as a base, and not much else. If you want a pool, an abundance of food at breakfast, this is not the hotel for you.

All in all very happy with this hotel, would most definitely recommend this hotel!

This is a small hotel which offers clean and comfortable rooms just off the main streets of south Beach. The staff was nice, the rooms were roomy and modern and breakfast buffet was a nice perk. The hotel offered beach chairs, towels and umbrella for guests to enjoy while at the beach.

This chic little hotel has a European vibe with clean and contemporary furnishings, a wonderfully extensive breakfast buffet, outdoor seating on the terrace for night and day, and beach equipment too (umbrella, towels, lounge chairs). You can't beat the location - away from the noise but so close to restaurants and shopping, and a 5 minute walk right into the Atlantic Ocean if you like to swim. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. Loved our stay and would highly recommend to others who are looking for something calmer than the big Miami Beach scene.

Room Tip: Rooms are large and spacious.

I stayed one night, visiting friends on my way out of the country. I decided to stay at this hotel because it is close to where I used to live. I had never really noticed it before, but it's super cute, very clean, and a decent sized room for South Beach (usually unbelievably tiny). It's at a great location, and the front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was quite good, although I was confused about the boiled hot dogs! I will be staying here again, hopefully every time I return to visit, which will be often.
