“Very nice hotel in a great location!”
Reviewed 28 March 2012

Loews in Miami is centrally located - you can walk or cab anywhere in minutes. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is there to make sure all your needs are taken care of. The main part of the hotel is beautiful and the pool was very nice (if a little crowded) I would stay there again.

I paid for and booked a luxury king suite only to find out when I was confirming my reservation that the room was not available and instead the hotel confirmed me for the St. Moritz suite, a room that I definetely would not like to stay in. It has been one week since I found this and despite daily phone calls to the hotel and the booking company the issue still remains to be unsolved. It seems as though the hotel refuses to own up to it's mistake and instead of going out of their way to satisfy the customer would rather look out for it's bottom line. I have never stayed there but I already have a bad taste in my mouth with the management at this property. Very disappointed

Excelent service but I feel the hotel it's quite old . I think it's very expensive and do not feel I received for what I paid. The pool area was crowded and very noisy.

Our family has stayed at the Loews South Beach whenever we want to be directly on South Beach. Our daughter attended UM and since graduating 2 years ago, we have really missed our stays here so decided to take a last minute 3 night trip in January. We were able to reserve one of the direct oceanfront rooms which we haven't done before. What a FABULOUS view!!

The location is perfect..away from the traffic and hustle bustle of Ocean Drive yet easily walkable and right on the beach. Lincoln Road, with its shopping and abundance of outdoor dining spots, is a block in the opposite direction. There are numerous dining options in either direction and a liquor store across the street as well as a Walgreens and CVS a few doors away for incidentals.

The pool area is gated, requiring a passkey for admittance from the beach but an easy walk down to the ocean and beach if you prefer sand. A long manicured pathway/ runs from byond the Loews along the beach down Ocean Drive to South Pointe Park. Skaters, joggers, bikers and segwayers as well as walkers enjoy this area. The Loews pool itself is beautiful, spotless and spacious. In January, new cabanas were being built on one side. This cut out a large number of lounge chairs due to the construction fencing. Chairs are monitored on weekends and after one hour of inactivity, your items can be removed to open up a chair for a new guest. It can get crowded poolside especially in the afternoon but the hourly passed ammenties of frozen grapes, evian facial sprays, smoothie samplers for example help to make it an enjoyable spot! There are chair savers in the row along the pool which is irritating but the monitoring of un used loungers helps to detour this.

The guest rooms are fair sized and balconies large enough to accomodate two chairs and a small table. Bed was very comfortable and shower pressure strong. If possible, spring for the ocean front. In the past, we have had partial ocean views and having now experienced the full view..it is fabulous if you enjoy sitting on the balcony early AM with a coffee or after a day at the beach with a glass of wine before heading out for the evening.

The lobby is huge with seating as well as chairs and loungers on the patio. There is a lobby bar and several small shops. Access to the Pool from the hotel is also monitored and a guest key must be shown to get to the pool deck. Landscaping along the walkway to the pool is lovely...lines with royal palm trees... one of my favorite views.

Valet parking can be pricey and slow at times. We noticed that they use the lot directly across Collins which is a public lot. SInce we needed the car several times during our stay, we opted to self park in this exact lot for almost 1/2 the price. It worked out perfectly for the 4 days we spent at the Loews.

There are several dining options but we feel that with all of the restaurants in the immediate area we haven't really experienced much more than AM coffee in the lobby ( refillable until 11am) and a mandatory welcome pina colada which we find delicious but a little pricey. There is beverage and food service at the pool which is well utilized by guests.

The grounds are beautiful and the hotel is spotless. I don't think you can beat the location and views in South Beach.

Room Tip: If possible, book a full ocean view..you won't be disappointed!

We stayed three nights at the Loews. The good: beautiful, clean room; attentive service; great food; helpful staff; nice pool area; right on the beach. The less than perfect: getting charged quite a bit for everything and the thumping house music blasting at the pool - though that was only on Saturday. Overall, we would highly recommend. Interesting people watching - the whole Miami scene in full exposure here!

I've stayed at numerous hotels in Miami Beach. Loews is the best overall! Best customer service, cleanliness, no "Miami" attitude that you get at the other hotels. I don't understand the complaints people have. For the complaints regarding cost, all hotels in Miami Beach are super expensive, duh, get over it. I stay at luxury hotels all over the world for leisure and business and this hotel was awesome. I plan on staying at Loews Miami Beach going forward. The food is great, check in was easy, all the staff super friendly and helpful, room was great. I had a spa treatment that was one of the best massages I've ever had. My trip before this was to the Maldives for a spa trip and this massage was superior. I cannot recommend it enough and I am difficult to please.

Room Tip: High Floor

My husband and I recently returned to the Loews Miami Beach Hotel after our first visit seven years ago. The hotel has been significantly remodeled and improved, with great concierge parking and much better flow in and out of the property & grounds. The rooms are a little on the small size, but perfectly nice, and most have balconies. One cautionary note: the 4th floor balconies are shared between two rooms, so you can find yourself in the company of the strangers in the next room. We moved to a higher floor to get a private one. Also, the hotel has showers but no tubs.
We like the Loews: it has plenty of gracious outside seating and places to perch to read and chat with friends. Access to the beach is great, as well to the walking trail that takes you right down to the heart of South Beach. Great location. Beautiful property. Good restaurant, bar and ice-cream shoppe. The hotel has a very friendly pet policy (they bring bowls and a cute tag for your dogs) that we appreciate.

Room Tip: Avoid the 4th floor rooms with shared balconies.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent stay. We completed a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2010 that remodeled all of our guestrooms, lobby, and porte cochere entrance, next month we debut our new cabanas. We hope to see you, your family and your four-legged travel companions, back at our hotel very soon.
