When we want to escape and enjoy an authentic, quaint, Italian experience, we drive straight to Sylvano in the heart of Miami. Mi amore!

Went last night with another couple and was pleasantly surprised by the inside and outside because from outside you'd never know how big and nice it is. We sat outside, since the weather was good and I'm glad we did. We started with wine and cocktails with a calamari salad and mussels for an appetizer which was delicious and very fresh seafood. For the entrees we had the Shrimp Risotto, Black Linguini with fresh crab meat, a Black Truffle Ravioli and Pesto linguini with potatoes. Such good food, I want to try everything on the menu..so definitely want to go back!

We ate dinner twice at Sylvano's, the first time for a proper sit down dinner and the second was a take out.
For out first dinner we ordered two appetizers 1) tuna carpaccio and 2) grilled calamari. Tuna came with mushed avocado on top which had a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Oddly the vinegar made the avocado taste spoiled (same taste when guacamole oxidizes). Calamari came out rubbery/chewy.
We also ordered seafood risotto and spaghetti with clams in white wine. Both were excellent.
People sitting next to us ordered a couple of pizzas and they looked good, so a few days later I ordered pizza fungi to-go. It was fantastic. Bang for buck, the place was worth it. Stick to the pasta/risotto and pizza...
Service and atmosphere were very good. Nice side patio. Definitely not a tourist trap.
