The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples
Ranked #6 of 59 Hotels in Naples
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 29 October 2007

Just returned from a 5 night stay with another couple at the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort, Naples and had a wonderful time.

The hotel is beautiful and in excellent condition. The staff goes well beyond what is necessary to assure a memorable visit.
The rooms are clean, comfortable and the golf view is great. Try to get a balcony. Andy is the golf concierge and he is very helpful. There are two on site golf courses , Tiburon Gold and Black. We liked the Gold Course the best. Check with Andy to make sure golf is available as they have events at times. The golf package is the best way to get the lowest rate. Beverly in guest relations is very helpful and can get you the best dinner reservations in Naples. Try Truluck's, Campielas, Don Shula's, Flemings and the restaurant at the hotel. The bar has great food and is very reasonable with perfect waiters that really care. There is a free shuttle on the half hour to the beach Ritz that you really need to see. It is bigger and more elegant. The Grill there is as good as it gets and we ate there one night though it is expensive-but well worth the experience. Take the shuttle or pay $20 to park at the beach Ritz. Parking is free at the Golf Ritz if you park yourself and it i very easy and convenient to park your own car
I highly recommend this property and I am ver picky. Free Wall Street Journal and NYT every day. Free juice in the lobby and coffee makers in the rooms.

What a great experience! We had to cancel a short trip to Italy when our son became ill and substituted a spontaneous four-night trip to Florida when he got better later the same week The staff at the Ritz Golf in Naples were simply excellent to a person. What sets the Ritz apart is that staff members really seem to enjoy their jobs, take hospitality seriously, and try to and do learn guests' names. Management must reward this kind of professionalism - I know the guests, including us, did. Everyone was always helpful and accommodating, which is very nice when you are traveling with a 9 month-old child.

On check in we were upgraded after having been placed in a room with an awkward balcony on a steep roof. I don't expect freebie upgrades, but the hotel was not full and they had available rooms, so the front desk person made the smart call to put us in a much nicer room (a small suite) and earn tremendous loyalty from a customer.

We had booked a room on the Club level because the Ritz Club level is worth the extra money, unlike many other hotels' gold or concierge floors. The lounge is terrific, the food very good, and the staff friendly and helpful.

The food, wine, and cocktails were excellent at each restaurant and bar. We were fortunate enough to be there over Mother's Day and eagerly made a reservation for their special brunch buffet. It was worth every penny.

The staff members at every restaurant were helpful and accommodating. Our son is normally very well behaved in restaurants, but when he started acting up during one nice dinner at Lemonia, we obviously took him out into the lobby and the staff rearranged our meal service so we could each eat a hot entree in shifts, and brought the other a beverage in the lobby while we waited for the tantrum to subside. We had booked a very early table to avoid aggravating other diners, but the restaurant was filling up and the staff's hospitality made possible a solution that worked for everyone.

I took a golf lesson at the course next door and felt like their only client. Best hour I've spent working on my swing in a very long time.

We spent many hours at the pool and it was wonderful. The staff was friendly, helpful, and responsive with chairs, towels, drinks, food, etc. There was live music at the pool during the day. We took advantage of the beach at the other Ritz property there and were treated to a great beach experience with someone there to help with towels, chairs, umbrellas, food, etc.

The room was delightful. The bathroom was sparkling, modern, and came equipped with soft towels and bathrobes.

A wedding took place at the hotel over our last two nights. What made this noteworthy is that the hotel had many separate wedding-related parties and dinners going on during that time, but never at the expense of the other guests. The pool closed early on one day for a cocktail party - at an hour when few people would be using it anyway, but the wedding happenings were handled seemlessly - they seemed to be having a great time and we were too.

I could go on, but we would return in a heartbeat. The Ritz is not cheap, but it was worth every penny. In the end, it was probably more relaxing than a week in Italy in places we truly love.

We stayed here in Mid August and left just before the Labor Day weekend. The hotel was excellent. It was very clean and the atmosphere was nice and laid back.

There is a free shuttle bus to the RC Beach Hotel and it is well worth checking it out, the sunset is a must see. The two hotels are very different though and the golf resort is much quieter which is exactly what we wanted. The beach hotel has two larger pools but is much more crowded but having said that, if we were staying there then we'd have definitely been on the beach.

Lunch and drinks are cheaper in the Tiburon Clubhouse than they are in the hotel and we ate lunch there most days. The staff are also excellent. The restaurants in the hotel are great but we mainly ate out in the evening and there are plenty of good restaurants to choose from in Naples. Downtown Naples is about 15mins drive.

Price of a beer in Tiburon (Draught Heineken for me) $5
Price of a beer in the hotel (draught Stella) $8
Excellent choice of wines in the hotel lobby bar and not a bad menu.

Now for the golf. There are two 18 hole courses, Gold and Black and both are excellent. We are both golfers and stayed as part of a golf package which gave us golf every day. All carts have GPS and there are plenty of drink stations on both courses with the marshalls always around to hand out ice cold towels, much appreciated in the August heat!

One thing that was not made clear to us though was that the golf course is jointly owned by Ritz-Carlton and Tiburon. As we did not want to pre-book all of our golf, we decided to book in the pro shop just after we'd finished each round, but after a cold beer and lunch in the excellent Sydney's bar which is adjacent to the pro shop. We found out towards the end of our stay that we should have used the golf concierge in the hotel reception who can also arrange golf at other courses in the area. We weren't aware that this is what we were supposed to do and it would have certainly enhanced our enjoyment even more if we'd taken advantage of this. The concierge guy was apologetic and very very helpful once we got to know about his team though.

We didn't bother with the valet parking as the free self parking is only a one minute walk so we couldn't see the point. Our room was overlooking the golf course and was absolutely fine.

One more thing. There was a charge for wireless internet access of $10 for 24hrs. I found out that this was free in the lobby area which also gave me 24hr access and continued to work once I was back in my room! So if you need to use this feature just wander down to the lobby, grab a nice cold drink and log on every day for free.

We'll be back here again and if you've never been here, try it. You won't be disappointed.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights in Sep 07. We had a wonderful time. In my opinion, this is certainly a 5 star hotel with an outstanding staff. Rooms are large, pool is great, grounds very well kept. We played golf on 2 days and found the courses at Tiburon to be among the finest we've played. They were in great shape and were a very fair test of golf. Shuttle to the Beach Ritz is great, we used it several times. Used the self parking which is only a short walk to the hotel. Very good breakfast buffet, a lighter breakfast is also availble. Outstanding fitness center. All in all, a super hotel. You won't be disapointed.

I went for my birthday along with my husband for the weekend, and had a very nice stay. Upon arrival of course you are greated with smiles and common courtesy. I was wished a warm happy birthday and given a birthday card, inside was a coupon for a free bottle of wine and dessert but only if I ate at there restaurant. I chose not to. I wanted to venture out. But still thought that was a very nice touch. The room I booked was a standard room, 5th floor with partial view but still lovely wonderful special $139 a night, low seaon.

The room was clean. I was a little shocked to see a stain on the comforter, being that this is a Ritz Carlton but besides that everything else was perfect. It looked like a set in stain on the back of the comforter, when I pulled it off the bed I saw it and that was a little gross . But, honestly the room was very clean that was the only thing that was bad.

The bathroom for a standard room was pretty big, ALL MARBLE, Beatiful Shower, and the Blvgari Toiletries were a pleasant surprise. I really loved it. Bathrobes are wonderful. Just loved it.

The pool is small, nothing spectacular that was a little disappointing, but there were not a lot of people there and it was very quiet and seemed private. This is there low season so occupancy is minamal. If it were full of people I would be a little uncomfortable with the size of pool. We ordered two beers by the pool and they came in nice glasses but the quantity was very little, less than a bottle in that glass and it was $16 when it was all said and done. For that price at least get a full bottle in your glass.

We did not play golf, but it looked spectacular, so for you golf lovers, I think you will like very much.

Parking, I did not use valet, I parked on the side of building and walked less than a minute, . Saved a little money there. There are wine glasses in room, so you can buy a bottle of wine take to your room. We ordered a movie $11.99 not bad, in other hotels I have seen them as high as $16.99 . There was a large selection to choose from and the movies were pretty recent. We saw Knocked up. It was nice to see a movie and drink wine in bed with no screaming kids in the background.

Did not use Fitness center but it looked very nice.

Went to Old Downtown Naples 5th ave. Ate at YABBA'S The food is amazing. Recommend it. Good prices.

They have shuttle that takes you to Ritz on the beach, did not go so can't give opinion on that, but shuttle is on time every 30 minutes.

I do not recommend this hotel for young couples it is really for older crowd and or romantic get aways. From 1 to 10 I give a strong 8.

Stayed at this hotel for 11 nights in August and it was fabulous. First time that I have booked a holiday over the internet so really looked around and hoped that all was going to work out. Need not have worried at all with this hotel. Everything about it was fabulous. The rooms are really comfortable and nicely decorated. The place is absolutely spotless and anything you want is on hand, all you need to do is ask!
The staff though ,are what really make this hotel great, they are so friendly and go out of there way to make sure that your stay is everything that it should be. Whether it is recommending a restaurant or making sure that you have enough ice in your drink they are always on hand and always pleased to help. They provide real, genuine ,quality customer service.
Two things to be aware of though if you stay at the hotel number one ,breakfast is expensive in my opinion at $25 per person although it is really delicious and number two you need a car hire if you want to go further than the hotel as its $70 dollars to get a taxi into town and back. The beach shuttle to the sister hotel is always on time though if that is all the exploring you intend to do and takes only ten minutes maximum to get there. If you want to go anywhere else in Naples to eat or just look around then definitely hire a car. The pool at the beach hotel gets busy at the weekends so if you want a quiet spot on Saturday or Sunday then stay at the Golf Resort pool. All in all though you cannot fault this hotel , it is in my opinion perfect for a relaxing break - absoluTely loved it and will definitely be back.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic service. On arrival we were upgraded, which was a great start.

Hotel was under occupied as it was out of season, but this made the day times by the pool great as it was so quet. It got busier towards the end of our week as it was a holiday weekend, but it was nice not to rattle around the hotel and hear some laughter after it having been so quiet!!!

Having never been to Florida, other than Disneyland as a child, we weren't prepared for how sprawling Naples was. So a car was compulsory.

We drove to Everglade city, it took little over an hour and was a worthwhile trip.

We only ate at the hotel at lunch times, which was reasonable at about $16 for a (HUGE) chicken wrap with fries/chips/salad, which we often shared. However there are plenty of places to eat at any time of the day nearby...Yabba is recommended (5th Avenue).

Drinks were expensive at the Hotel, which we expected, but was a shame as we'd definitely made better use of the bar had it been slightly cheaper ($14/glass red wine). We did notice a lot of people bringing their own food and drinks into the hotel through the reception area, so I assume the Hotel don't mind this happening!!

One shock on checking out was that we'd used the Hotel phone to make an International Call (our mobiles woudn't work for some reason) and 8 minutes of call cost...............$70!!!!...lesson learned!

One final comment is that we were glad after spending a day at the Beach Resort, that we'd stayed at the Golf, far quieter, more relaxing and in our opinion and better hotel!!!
