My husband and I just returned from a weekend at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida. The service and attitude of this hotel is impeccable. A lovely escape from the cares and concerns of our busy lives! The Ritz is expensive but well worth it!

The Ritz is very expensive and worth it. It is the epitome of luxury and elegance. As you enter you know right away you are in another world from the hussle and bussle of real life.

My wife, son and I spent a week in March, 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton - Naples for spring break. We upgraded to the club level with a king sized bed and a day bed for my son. A couple of observations:

1. Overall, a very good hotel, but I do think that the facility is beginning to show some wear and tear in our room and some of the common areas. Stains on upholstery, knicks on painted woodwork, etc. were clearly evident.

2. Gym and spa are among the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in.

3. Club level is worth it. Food and service are excellent.

4. The hotel was at capacity the week we were there and it was evident. The place was packed but the hotel staff did do a good job of keeping up with demand.

5. The electronic key system is antiquated and needs to be replaced. Each time you enter the elevator, you are required to enter your room key for floor access, which worked about 80% of the time. I learned that the key might be rejected from one elevator but work in another. Also, cell phones erase the key which is a problem from the 1990s. Fix this already.

6. The food in the many restaurants is very good and service was generally prompt which was impressive given the full capacity of the entire property.

The attention to detail and service at this hotel is fantastic. While our stay was not perfect, the good cheer and effort on the part of the staff was infectious. What a pleasure to stay at this hotel.

We went to a business conference at the Naples Ritz Carlton on the beach and were not disappointed. The staff was uniformly attentive and helpful. The room was comfortable and tasteful -- and every room has a view of the Gulf of Mexico. The conference facilities were excellent and the staff was impressive -- providing wonderful meals and snacks. The facility managers were also impressive, cleaning and refreshing meeting halls in 10-15 minutes between sessions. It's hard to beat a Ritz Carlton!

We chose this property because we wanted a beachfront, upscale hotel with spa and golf amenities and good service. Since we frequently stay in high end properties, we expected high pricing on food and services but hoped the overall experience made it well worth the price. The strengths of this Ritz are clearly dedication to service. From the valet to the waitstaff at the pool to the spa employees, everyone was gracious, appropriate and accommodating. We did not counter a single bad or ambivalent attitude during our entire stay. For this reason alone, the trip was memorable. While high priced, the food was very good. Our biggest complaint about this property was the "dated" and somewhat tired look of the common spaces, decor and spa. While I expect a Ritz to fall into the "classic elegance" category rather than contemporary or edgy, the property was showing signs of tired decor and in great need of a facelift. Other areas were dark and not welcoming. The sushi restaurant had the feel of a gloomy cheap hotel sports bar. The spa decor was also of the 1990s light pink/beige look--again, could really use updating. While the spa services were nice and the staff was lovely, I was disappointed that I had a hard time getting hot water in the locker room (the attendant described this as a "repeat" problem. Hmm, should not be for a $250 spa service!). The grounds were well-maintained. Waterview room had an amazing view--well worth the upgrade or higher priced room if you are on the fence. I wouldn't necessarily bring kids to this property. While the kids and teen club looked promising, overall I think this hotel caters more to the 55-75 year old set. I think the most disappointing part of the trip had little to do with the Ritz property--but rather with Naples itself. The geriatric feel was really overwhelming and as a thirty-something couple, we really felt out of place.

Room Tip: Waterview was lovely.

We stayed here at the beginning of February for a conference and brought a 19 month old. The Ritz was very accomodating of the baby and even provided some basic baby proofing materials. The property is large, so be prepared to walk a long way from your room to the beach, but the benefit of the size is a large variety of restaurants that had excellent, but pricey, food. The beach here is great, and our son loved playing in the shallow waves. The pools were all warm, and the kiddie pool even warmer.

Everything is expensive as you would expect at the Ritz, but all of Naples seemed expensive too. We went to the Naples zoo one day and loved it (but bring bug spray!) The health club is well equiped and wasn't too busy, and there are also decent areas to run close to the hotel as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the elevators is walking is a concern.
