Too bad, it is closed. I enjoyed it as a local seafood spot with good food for reasonable prices. Rumor control has it that the bar business was providing the business to sustain operations, but Helen Back opening just a traffic light away took too much of the bar business.

Sorry folks, but Ed's is closed. They shut down about the time Helen Back's opened their doors just down the street.

Ed's wasn't that great to begin with, and it was going downhill over the past few years. Sorry to see a local guy shut the doors, but the place really needed an innovative remodel and upgrade to attract more customers. The old "beer guzzlers" couldn't support it.

Sad to see you go, Ed.

I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, I did not. I ordered the Smoked Tuna Dip which was pretty good but after having it at the Red Bar and Bud & Alley's it was not nearly as good. Then I had the Pan Seared Grouper with lump crab meat in a white wine sauce. They did not sear the small portion of fish properly and for some reason chopped it up, dumped the crab meat on top and then poured sauce on top. It came to the table in a mess. The wine sauce tasted like cheap white wine with no other flavoring so the whole dish was bland. It came with hush puppies, baked potato and onion rings that were all just okay. The decor is bland as well. I would have overlooked that if the food had been good, it wasn't. The only bright spot was the server, she was cheerful, helpful and on top of things. The last thing was it was over priced. I was looking for a seafood place close to home that would be just as good as Sowal...my search continues.

If you are driving down the main street in Niceville, you probably won't notice this restaurant. It was a recommendation from our hotel. Portions are large, especially the side dishes of vegetables. The food was good and the service was very good. The atmosphere: home-town restaurant and active bar.

Sports bar atmosphere. Fried seafood platter is great. Waitresses are fun. They give you more food than you can eat. Nice place to have a drunk also.
