We've vacationed on Captiva and Sanibel for more than 30 years and much of their natural beauty remains. South Seas used to be 12 funky cottages and now it's a resort megaplex but it is still beautiful, a wonderful spot to watch birds, walk on the beach, fish fro the intracoastal shore. We rented this unit to entertain two friends from the UK and it worked fine, if a bit cramped, for four adults. The time right after Thanksgiving and first few days of December was perfect. Perfect weather, fewer visitors, just lovely. We watched dolphins from our little porch where we enjoyed leisurely lunches and we grilled on the community gas grills near the adjacent pool. Not crazy about the extensive display of fake flowers and nick-knacks in the unit but a small price to pay in Paradise. Note: the kitchen is well equipped but know that grocery shopping on Captiva is minimal and on Sanibel somehwat limited and expensive. We're not fans of restaurants there--overpriced and underwhelming, so we cook which we enjoy in any case.
