“Great night time show!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2012

It's worth waiting in line for. The music alone is fantastic! My children love this show, so it's a must do for us.

They do sell food and drinks so if you come in hungry, don't panic.

“Multi-media, over the top, must see display”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2012

Playing to capacity crowds 3 nights a week - and that's 10,000 people, this show has to be pretty good. And while not as excellent as the fireworks at Epcot - it is clearly over-the-top. There are some fireworks, there are princesses dancing, there's a dragon that comes to life and breathes fire, and there are water displays after water displays. The Disney villains that come to life on the water 'screen's' are huge and frightening for young kids - although our 4 year old grand-daughter took it in stride. The scariest part for her was the giant snake that suddenly appears and threatens Mickey. We kept reminding her that it's not real - and that clearly helped. The show is definitely worth seeing - but don't let the cast members tell you that the lower seats are filled - we went at 7:30 and while people were standing in the back, there were seats all around us that weren't filled. And be sure to sit where you don't have a pole blocking your view. You don't need to see the dead center - the water 'screen's' appear in the middle of each main section - something I'd wish we'd known in advance.

“Do the dinner package or go VERY early.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2012

We recently went to Disney's Hollywood Studios with a group of 9 (2 under age 6 and 3 over age 55). The dinner package allows you to receive vouchers that give you seating at Fantasmic! 30 minutes prior to show time. There are three things about the package that are different from the last time we did it.

You enter right next to Tower of Terror exit, it is $54 per adult which includes appetizer, entree and dessert. (This can be a better deal than the 3 items ordered individually if you order the higher priced items.) finally, we were allowed to choose a seat anywhere we wanted to. Previously there was a roped off section that was off to the side of the theater.

I have always loved the food at the Brown Derby, so we had no complaints there. The vouchers and directions on using them were clear. The process of finding the entrance for vouchers, parking our stroller and getting our seats was easy and there were lots of cast members to direct us.

Some folks posted that they thought the projections of the villains and skeletons were too dramatic. I guess you will have to decide that for yourself. All the footage used is from Disney full length features and animated shorts. So if your kids would be scared by the Skeleton Dance or Fantasia, then maybe it would be too intense. The 2 kids we went with loved it. We explained that it was Mickey's nightmare and that good would triumph over evil.

I will admit I prefer the version of the show in California. The Pocahontas sequence is a touch too long for my taste
If you think it's tough to get a seat for this show, try finding one in Disneyland. They have it alongside the Rivers of America with the actual show occuring on Tom Sawyer's Island. There is no theater seating.

From time to time Disney has experimented with a Fantasmic! Dinner packages that allow you to pick up a picnic dinner which you can eat anywhere you wish. I think if you have tried to wait in line with kids for an hour or more the dinner package is well worth it.
