We were pleasantly surprised with this property. I had asked friends for a recommendation and this property came up numerous times. So glad we stayed. The room was on the small side and we had thought we were getting 2 queeen beds when we got 1 queen and 1 pull out sofa bed. It was OK comfortable but the kids didn't complain...they were exhausted from the Magic Kingdom. I don't think I've stayed in a cleaner property. It was impeccable! We asked for more towels and they arrived promptly. Our luggage was waiting at our room on arrival with a bellman. Transportation to/ from Magic Kingdom (the only park we visited) was easy via boat or bus. We were there in November and the Christmas decorations were stunning. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The room had a mini kitchen with refrigerator and microwave. We had a nice balcony overlooking the woods. The outdoor movie, lakeside, was fun as was seeing the geyser.

Room Tip: Make sure you know what you are getting! Rooms against the woods are quiet.

I stayed in a two bedroom villa with a group of friends in November, 2011, for four nights. The Lodge is beautifully decorated. The beds were comfy, bathrooms large, and the kitchen was nice. We had no complaints at all about our stay. Grabbing the WDW transport was a short walk from our room. The pool by the villas was nice a quiet. The main pool by the hotel was a little louder from all the children playing. The poolside bar was nice and relaxing. Just everything you would expect from a Disney property. I would HIGHLY recommend the villas.

This is the tenth time that I have stayed at this hotel and it gets better every time. I should say though that they have all been during the Christmas season and there is no other hotel on Disney property that matches the ambience during this season that the Lodge does. We stayed in the villas and the extra room is handy and the serenity of the lobby there is wonderful. The boat ride to the MK is an attraction in itself. I cant wait until the next stay.

Staying at the Wilderness lodge and villas is a great way to get away from the large crowds and remain close to the action. Its the smallest of the vacation club properties. Has a great pool and outdoor pool bar. The staff at the pool bar are very friendly. It was october, so Kids are in school, except for those in strollers.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the water side. You cant really see very much of the lake, but its all trees and...

In a fantastic location, just a short boat ride to the magic kingdom. Stayed in November, this is a wonderful resort. The rooms are small but are clean and have everything you could need for your stay. Loved it and will definitely be back.

Room Tip: We had a lovely courtyard room, but spent so little time in it I probably wouldn't bother paying...

I have always wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge and finally got my wish. We just returned from Disney and had such a good time. What a great resort! My husband and I had a one bedroom villa. He normally gets up earlier than me and I like the separate bedroom so he doesn't have to tip toe around me. It was so peaceful there. We loved the decor, pools were great, (we didn't have an opportunity to use them but they looked fabulous!), the beach is fun, the main restaurant is really good and they make it very fun for adults and kids. The quick service restaurant is ok - there are some really good sandwich selections. We didn't make it to the high-end restaurant; couldn't get reservations but we heard from many that it was quite good.
In the villas, there is very little noise from other rooms, (we didn't hear any to be honest). There was no noise from the common hallway; there were a LOT of kids there so we were quite surprised we didn't hear them!
There are nice walking/riding paths, boat rentals...you could spend days at this resort and never visit the parks and still have a good time.
Beds and pillows were comfy - shower pressure good - kitchen more than adequate - well situated, (just a few minutes to the parks), excellent service, good food, fun events going on all the time...
Yes, I would HIGHLY recommend this resort! I know some people feel like, 'why spend a little more on a room like this - you don't come to Disney to sit in your room', but you know, there is a lot of running around at those parks and a little down time is a very good thing. If you can spend that down time in a comfortable space, why not? We've stayed off the park before and frankly, most of the economy rooms are just a little icky. We've also stayed in other Disney resorts but this ranks as our favorite and we will absolutely go back to Wilderness Lodge when we visit Disney again.

The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are one of the best Disney Vacation Club properties at Walt Disney World. First off, the atmosphere, it feels like you are at Yellowstone and there is not a Castle just a small boat ride away. The geyser that spouts every hour, hot springs, mountains building up the pool, and large trees makes it seem like you are at a resort tucked inside Yellowstone. The small touches like animal prints and leaf outlines in the concrete even add to. The atmosphere is enough to come back again and again. However, the rooms are excellent. They are spacious and carry through the theme. We stayed in a a studio which had a pull out bed and a queen bed. The pull out bed was as comfortable as the queen bed (which is rare to find!). When looking outside, the area was covered with trees and no sights of Florida...you were able to put yourself in the wilderness even more. The villas are separate from the actual hotel. There is a covered walkway, perfect for when those Florida afternoon storms come, to get there. The actual villa lobby branches off into a place to sit and visit, a play area and multiple art decoration areas. The elevators to take you to your room are fast. If you missed one, another elevator was going to be there in seconds. It was fabulous for when you were exhausted from a long day at the parks and was ready to be in your room and sleep. The quick service restaurant had a variety of offerings and specials. The sitting could get tight during peak times. It was always concerning when there was a long line to get food if you were going to be able to get a seat. But, the resort is spectacular. You could spend just a day there exploring and going in the pool. It was so much fun and I cannot wait to stay there again!

Room Tip: Even though a pool or water view costs more, the standard rooms are just as good with putting yourse...
