“Not bad for the price...not the best for Palm Beach”
Reviewed 19 April 2012

I would rate this hotel high for the value. Palm Beach is very expensive and the price is reasonable here.

We were checked in promptly at arrival. There was a dog parking in the hallway so we asked to be moved to a new area of the hotel. They did so quickly. The new room was fine, but not decorated as well. There was a lot of noise next door and we could hear every step people were taking in the room above us. There was also a window/wall based air conditioning unit vs. central air. It was noisy as well. I give this hotel a lower rating because there was just way too much noise for a quiet Palm Beach getaway.

The food here is great no matter what menu you order from. Not much variety, but the food is done very well.

The pool is tiny. On a sunny day it is really hard to get a seat. When the sun moves, you have to move too. The beach is over a half mile away. We went there instead...again...crowded beach isn't ideal for quiet Palm Beach getaway.

I also wish they had a place to get food or drinks that isn't the restaurant. They don't have soda machines or snack or a place to buy suntan lotion/gifts etc. There is NO place to buy this in the area local to the hotel. It would really make it easier on the guest to have some smaller amenities.

The decoration is nice, although all of the carnations appear to be fake.

My business partner and I just returned from a four night stay in Palm Beach. As usual the entire staff at the Chesterfield all provided exemplary service and hospitality. I witnessed several "difficult" guest on this visit and the staff handled the surly ladies...I am being generous..with the ultimate respect and kindness. I have so much respect for people in the hospitality business, dealing with the spoiled and indulged is not easy. Moving on, the food was delicious in the restaurant at both breakfast and dinner..and the service was excellent as well. As I have said in a previous review, we have stayed in every hotel on the island and the Chesterfield truly is number one!! Keep it up! Your guest truly value all of you and the service and hospitality you all provide!

Tucked away on a residential street only a few blocks from the beach and Worth Ave, this hotel is a perfect getaway spot. We traveled about 3 hours from the Ft Myers area on the opposite coast to Palm Beach to celebrate my b-day and we were very pleased with the whole experience.

The hotel is older and tastefully decorated and each room has its unique charm. Our room was a bit on the small side, but I would expect that from an older hotel, so it wasn't an issue for us. Plus it had all the creature comforts of a larger room including flat screen, wifi etc.

The Leopard Lounge (restaurant attached to the hotel) is a must see. The decor is beautiful, the food is delicious and people watching is a hoot! This is Palm Beach and you definitely get a taste of that eccentric, old money flair that is part of its reputation. Be sure to stay for after dinner drinks and dancing.

Other amenities include a pool that is surrounded by lush foliage and is a great spot to spend a lazy (or hungover) afternoon. The area is intimate and fills up quickly so get there early! We had lunch on the patio during the day and enjoyed overhearing the society ladies congratulate each other on their Ferraris...again, this is Palm Beach. Also, check out the cigar room and library as added bonuses!

Last but not least, the service at this hotel was exceptional. Despite the upscale surroundings, the staff went out of their way to make sure we felt at home and that our needs were met. I felt they honestly wanted us to have a great time and it wasn't forced. The manager in the Lounge was especially friendly and helpful (even when we asked for another spot to go!)

Overall, it was a great experience for our first trip to Palm Beach. I will forewarn you that Palm Beach is expensive so be prepared to spend a good amount of money while there. For a point of reference, we each had 2 drinks at the bar before dinner and the bill was $75 total (incl gratuity).

For a small, friendly, and convenient place to stay in Palm Beach, the Chesterfield is lovely. The service is absolutely outstanding. Moreover, there is no need to search far and wide for fine dining. That can be had at the Chesterfield's Leopard Lounge. I don't think there is a better young chef than Gerard Coughlin. As with the hotel staff the service at the Leopard Lounge is outstanding.

My wife did a High Tea here with 9 of her friends. If you want a lovely afternoon with delicious food and wonderful atmosphere, go to the Chesterfield. My wife and her friends do this once a year at the Chesterfield.

The service at this hotel is exemplary. Our room was beautifully decorated and you didn't have the "hotel room" atmosphere, it was more like staying in a beautiful home. It is a very easy walk to Worth Avenue for a fun day of shopping. The restaurant provides excellent service and wonderful meals.

Room Tip: The suites are roomy and wonderful

I traveled to The Chesterfield for a girls' weekend. The hotel is in a great location. It is a very short walk to the beach and to Worth Avenue. One day we even walked all the way to The Breakers, but decided to take a taxi back b/c of dinner plans. The staff there was very helpful and were able to recommend some places that we really enjoyed (Taboo). The only real complaint we had was that the rooms were very small. I was traveling with a group of girls and the beds were on the small side to be sharing with a person you normally don't sleep with. We all thought they were doubles. If they were queens, they were very small queens. Also, keep in mind there are not a lot of young people on in this area of PB- we all just turned 40 and we were definitely the youngest people at the hotel.
