We were sent here on recommendation of people we know.
Our waitress (not Asian) couldn't understand a word we said and we had to point to everything we wanted on the menu. The drinks order was wrong and we had to send it back. She finally got it right after pointing it out again on the menu. It was very quiet in there, which we expected and didn't mind. Our chef came immediately after we received our salad and started cooking. He wasn't very engaging compared to other chefs we've had at other Japanese restaurants. We felt very rushed. As he was piling the rice on our plates, the waitress was trying to remove our salads and soup and even tried to take away my husbands wine glass despite it being half full. The vegetables were barely on the hot plate before they were placed on our plates too. We had Steak, shrimp and scallops. I watched cautiously as he cooked them all super quick. It was as if he wanted to get it over and finished with as quickly as possible. I got my husband to try the scallops and shrimp to check they were cooked before I would touch them. The chef couldn't wait to get away and back in the kitchen. Then no sooner had we put our forks down, the waitress was back trying to take dishes and asking about boxes. My husband disappeared to the restroom and she was trying wipe around me which I though was the height of bad manners!!! Not good customer service at all!!! The food tasted good but the experience was greatly lacking. On this visit, I would not return
Which is a shame as we eat out often and are locals so close to this place. We were in and out within 40 mins. So disappointing.
