We rented a 2 bedroom, 2 bath Condo through HotelOne.com on line for my daughter and her family & to share it with us also. They got there before us & were shown 4 different Condo's to chose from. We were not given a unit number beforehand and now we know why. Although we were not informed of this when we booked it. Therefore, we ended up on the 17th. floor in a very nicely located and tastefully furnished unit, with a semicircular balcony & a million $ view. We were very pleased and happy with it, however the way the pricing is structured leaves something to be desired. It seemed like they were charging for something at every turn and it ended up costing us more then we bargained for, but there was nobody around we could discuss the matter with, only the cleaning ladies, who had no clue at all how we could get a hold of someone to talk to. That kind of took our enjoyment away for a while. Mind you we did not dwell on it too long. We were there to have a good time. The weather was not cooperating either. It was mostly cloudy, cool & windy. It was February after all, so we supplemented our mood with a bit of liquid cheer and at least we had a chance to catch up on some family issues and so, it wasn't a total loss. We cooked for ourselves most of the time but we also tried some of the local establishment's sea food. All in all though we had a good time. Something we'd like to mention is that we would advise others not to go there in the winter months if you want to swim in the Bay etc., because it is out of season and a lot of stores and restaurants are also closed and that can also put a demper on many activities you may have had on your agenda.
The beach is spectacular, you can walk on it for ours in both directions and the sunsets can be just as magical as the sunrises if there is no fog or clouds on the horizon. Now that we know what to expect, we will have to return to this place some other time when it's a lot warmer.

Room Tip: Every unit faces the ocean so there is no, what to look for as the best choice, accept of course the...

Spent the past 2 winters here and couldn't be more satisfied. The accommodations were more than adequate with extra large balconies. Where can you go for such a good rate on the beach where you can watch the dolphins while enjoying the beautiful sunsets. This resort is well maintained and the staff go out of their way to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Many friendships were made around the pool and the hottub (which I might add is one of the largest we have seen). We highly recommend this resort to our family and friends. We will be coming back next year.

I just read all the reviews and I must say I am glad I did not see them or I would not have gone to Emerald Isle and stayed.... My husband and I stayed there for 4 week in 2011 and we went back this year and stayed 5 weeks and we have booked for next year. It must be who you book with and unit you stan in, because we did not have the problems that some of you had. We found Emerald Isle to be clean, and the staff was very nice. The first year we went with VBRO and had no problems but this year we went with Beach Side Resort and was very pleased. Raejean works in the office and I was very pleased with all her help. We look forward to going back next year and many years to come. We stayed in room 1908.

Room Tip: Bood with Beachside Resorts and ask for Raejean

For the past 10 years we have been coming to PCB during the mths of Jan-Feb & Mar. During this time we have stayed at other condominions on the beach. This year was our first time at Emerald Isle and it will not be our last. We have already made reservations for 2013. There is not one resort in the past that can compare to the Emerald Isle in regards to management, security, maintenance and quality. We would like to thank General Manager Mark Caron and his entire staff for the effort they have put into our stay, especially during the spring break. Robert & Jane Wild

We stayed in unit 601 for six enjoyable weeks this winter. This was our third year at Emerald Isle and this was the nicest unit we have had. It was clean, the kitchen was will supplied, the beds and other furnishings were comfortable. Parking was no problem. Also it is on the peaceful end of the beach, which means fewer spring breakers. We have reserved a unit for next year, also through Beachside Resorts. The staff was very helpful in solving any minor problems.

Room Tip: Go on line to their web site and look at the furnishings of each unit on line.

We spend the winter months in PCB, and, in our experience, there is not a better managed condominium on the beach. All condos are two bedroom, two bathrooms, and ours was spotless. The other reason we have come back for the second year is because the building is so well maintained. The hard-working staff keep it in wonderful condition. Any review that claims to have had problems with their condo is because they had a problem with a single owner and not because of any issues with building management or maintenance.

As others indicated, the reviews that we saw gave us pause but this is the part of the beach that we love to visit so we took a chance. We were delighted. We booked through Beachside Resorts and found a room at the height we liked (not above the 8th floor) and with all the amenities that we like to have at the beach. Suite 601 is an end unit that is very tastefully decorated (not a lot of knick-knacks to get in your way). The 2 bedroom unit included a washer and dryer and a full kitchen with all the items needed to prepare meals and relax. The living room and Master bedroom both opened out on a wide balcony with a patio table and chairs. The owner even provided wireless internet as part of the rental program.

Mike’s Diner and Oyster Bar is directly across the street and the food is great for all three meals. Pier Park Mall is about 2 miles away and the resort is right off highway 79 (easy access to Back Beach Road).

Parking was the only issue we had with our stay. Parking on level two is difficult with a large car and items to unload/load. We found the beach level parking to be much easier to navigate. However, parking across the street in the parking garage worked for us (easy in and out).

Room Tip: Try to get an end unit. Balconies are very large and the views are great.
