We stayed poolside and paid $130 maybe per night. We could have paid a little more for gulf side. This hotel is very nicely located, it is on the beach and you do not have to walk far across the sand to get to the beach. We love the wooden boardwalks down the side of the hotel, puts one in mind of a simpler time where people strolled around the outside, nice swings and picnic tables outside. We ate at the restaurant on the beach side, sat outside and viewed the beach. The food at the restaurant, boardwalk beach cafe we think is the name, is very good, cuts above typical sandwich shop food.

The hotel is right on the beach and has great views. The room clean so that was another plus. However, the shower would not drain, even after having maintenance come up to fix it and it was a very small bathroom! We had our kids with us so the small bathroom and drain issues turned out to be a headache. The walls are obviously thin w/o a lot of insulation bc we could hear our neighbors on the floor above us and beside us all night long! My husband and I got a total of 2 hours sleep the first night due to the noise from the rooms around us. We saw one roach in our room while there as well. If you're looking for a cheap weekend get-away and don't mind the small space and a dated hotel, than this is the place for you. We stayed at the beach almost all day and only went to our room to shower and sleep. All in all it was an ok trip. If we were staying longer than 2 nights I'd definitely pay the extra money and stay in an updated condo. The location and access to the bar/restaurant at the resort next door was def the highlight of our stay here. Not great but not horrible either.

The hotel is in a nice location on the beach. And the view is amazing from the fourth floor to look over the beach. The rooms were clean but bring an iron and sure you wear ya flip flops all the time you will have sand every where in the room no matter what. The staff is pleasant and friendly and the cafes and restaurants are nice and food is delicious. Granted it's not a five star hotel but the experience and the ambience make you forgot about it.

We booked four nights to attend the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam. I read the reviews, but obviously the negative reviews were people not use to the Florida coast. For what we paid, the room was adequate, however the location was fantastic. I strongly suggest booking a gulf view room. We did experience an ant problem on our last night, however the staff quickly moved us to another room and then we were compensated for 1 1/2 nights stay. It was great that the beach was within steps of our room, then we boarded the courtesy shuttle each afternoon for the music festival. If you are looking for a "fluffy room", you may want to stay elsewhere, but if you are looking for a room within close proximity to the Gulf, this is a great place for a decent price. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Reserve gulf side

My husband and I stayed here over the Labor Day weekend, and while the hotel had a great view of the Gulf, the room was very small, the floor wasn't clean, and the bed was incrediably hard. The housekeeping crew kept leaving the curtain open so people passing by could see our stuff in the room (we really did not like that). Also the tv remote in our room quit working one night and it was the next afternoon before we got another one. The whole facility could really use some refreshing. For the price, we were hoping for a little bit nicer room since we booked nearly six months in advance.

Room Tip: Opt for the Gulf side, it's a spectacular view. We were on the pool side and it's much less than stellar.
