What a surprise to find a native Rhode Islander and seafood aficionado transplanted to FL. The owner buzzes around the restaurant to ensure that everyone likes the food, stops to talk, and retell his story of moving and offering some of his mother's recipes. The server is equally friendly and solicitous. Where else can one find 3 types of clam chowder? Where else Is the New England clam chowder taste like every clam was just caught and cooked? Where else does the fish taste freshly caught and carefully prepared? This is a casual, basically decorated restaurant that emphasizes very fresh seafood and friendly service. We will be back!

Went to Buster’s with family visiting from Boston and being originally from Boston, the seafood is fabulous, from the lobster bisque to the seafood platter to the scallops, we really enjoyed everything here, They also have entertainment every evening. It’s comfortable and we’ll definitely return!

We went there on a Saturday night at 6:30. We were told the wait would be 5 minutes. 1 hour later we were finally seated. Many people walked out because of the long wait, but we decided to stick it out. I would love to say that it was worth the wait...but it wasn’t.
The waiter was very apologetic for our long wait and tried his best to serve us quickly. He explained they had a back up was in the kitchen. They only had one fryer and the majority of the menu is fried food. Most of the people there has coupons for their meals. They had a very loyal condo base.

They have three types of clam chowder - New England, Manhattan and Rhode Island. Rhode Island style uses a clam broth for it’s base. We chose to go with the more traditional New England style. It was OK, but I have had better. For dinner we had the “spicy” bang bang shrimp roll. It was not spicy at all and was served with the same type of roll you get with a lobster roll. Fries rounded out the rather lackluster meal. It was reasonably priced but all rather average.

Great lobster specials and Sawgrass Mills is close by on Sunrise Blvd. It is a 12 to 15 minute drive. Our server Dakota was very friendly, attentive and efficient. We enjoyed the lobster special. Another specialty is Buster's chowder, hearty with a thick rich broth and filled with clams and the yummy taste of the ocean. Some nights there is karaoke or live music. We were serenaded to the "Rhythm of the Rain". The family had a delightful evening at Buster's.

My wife & I enjoyed a great dinner at Buster's Doughboys & Clam Cakes. We deliberately "over-ordered" so that we could sample as many of our favorite seafood items as possible. We were impressed with the freshness, size and flavor of the "Drunken Mussels" appetizer. I really enjoyed their Fried Ipswich Clam Roll (the main reason that I decided to eat at Buster's.) My wife's grilled scallops were very tasty, as was the Fisherman's Platter that I ordered which included fried oysters (great) plus fried scallops, shrimp & cod (all very good.) The onion rings are also worth ordering. Although their namesake "doughboy" dessert was likeable, it was their coffee milkshake known as a "Rhode Island Cabinet" that we truly enjoyed. Buster's Douhboys will be my new 'go to" seafood restaurant (now that my previous favorite seafood restaurant "Izzy's Fish & Oyster" on South Beach has permanently closed.)
