The resort was great. Michael and the staff are wonderful. Everyone that stays there are very friendly. There is shuffle board and mini putting green, my son really enjoyed that. The only negative thing I can say is that there isn't screens on the sliding doors, it was a real pain because you would love to sit inside and hear the ocean but your worried about bugs or lizards coming in. And one just about did come in. I think the resort is good for seniors and families. The beach is nice, you have use of lounge chairs right on the sand. I would definitely come back again.

Mike and the staff were great. Rooms were clean, well stocked. The grounds were manicured. Great pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. Grills were hard wired to gas and cooked great. Beach chairs were nice and ready for use. Mike hooked us up with beach towels too. If you're looking for clean, well appointed, and friendly, this is it. On the other hand it's quiet. Don't expect any night life here. You'll have to travel to Lauderdale by the Sea 1.2 miles south and hit that at night if you need that type scene. I'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: If you want a view of the ocean you have to go up to the 3rd floor because of the dunes.

We have stayed at Native Sun for 16 years over spring break (and we aren't owners). The price is right for a place that is on the beach! It's NOT fancy. If you are looking for something upscale this isn't the place for you. We go with 3 familes every year with kids. It is a safe place. The pool is very nice. Make your favorite burgers or chicken on their BBQ grills. Staff is very attentive. Remember this isn't a hotel, it's a time share that you rent out so maid service is only 2 days a week and there is no restaruant on site. If you are into a relaxing safe family vacation at a good price, this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms ending in 1 or 2 as they are direct beach access. If you have the first floor you may...

We had the opportunity to visit the Native Sun the last week of 2011. The Native Sun should not qualify as a "resort" on any scale. On many other travels, we have been to multiple resorts that offer basic resort services... not the Native Sun. While the front desk staff are nice and helpful they are only present from 9-6 on most days. The resort that you get here is a pool with jacuzzi, shuffle board, and a useable tennis court. There are no other services offered- no food, no drink, no fitness facility, no concierge to even help you with planning of activities. Washer/dryer on site... 2 of each for the 35 units on site and they take quarters. The units while clean for the most part are dated especially in the bathroom which went out of style with disco. A forecast for our week was having to spray for ants on our first morning after they got into box of doughnuts left closed on the counter (fortunately the ant spray was already under the sink in the kitchen) If you're looking for the basics that a hotel provides, make sure you go to the front desk during their limited hours. You have to go there to check out a hair dryer, DVD, blender, etc. If you're a family, don't expect anyone around to enforce the hot tub or pool hour rules as there are groups in each well past midnight each night of our stay. If you like quiet, not going to happen either as shopping carts (which are used to bring your groceries from the parking lot to your unit and by housekeeping to transport dirty laundry) roll the walkway at any hour of the morning. As for nearby restaurants and services, one restaurant next door otherwise its a minimum half mile to anything else. If you're looking for great access to the beach, you got it otherwise there is nothing resort about the Native Sun. In summary, if you're going to go somewhere and expect a resort destination keep looking. Reading the other reviews before my trip I expected something completely different than what I got. We arranged to leave a day early and get a hotel at our next destination.

Its always nice when things are clean and kept well. The Native Sun staff keep this place looking great. It might not be the most updated but this does not matter when every so well looked after.
Michael in the reception makes you feel very welcome and is always there if anything is needed.
The location on the beach, the temperature of the pools and the well kept barbecue makes everything excellent. We would very much like to come back.

My mom bought this years ago, I have been going forever and love it! Absolutely love this place and look forward to it every year. One of the nicest beaches. I grew up in Florida and have been all over the Caribbean, Mexico and this is still one of my favorite beaches. The people who run this are awesome, take care of your every need. Close to everything. Even my cynical (lol) husband loves this place. When the regulars are there it is awesome although sometimes people are inconsiderate with the pool lounge chairs if your going to the beach all day don't save all the chairs at the pool....it is an time share so has all the things you need a barbque grill laundry, tennis courts, sauna, jacuzzi

Room Tip: Even rooms have 2 baths odd rooms have one bath

We stayed at the Native Sun on a RCI exchange and this place was great.. The maintenance staff was always busy making sure the place was in tip top shape. Michael at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and in great shape. I would most likely go back again.
