While the hotel itself is very cute and in a great location, the rooms have very, very thin walls. You can hear everything, the people upstairs talking to each other or their cell phones ringing. Was woken one night hearing my neighbors as they were involved in evening activities that were so loud they could have been in my room. My room was next to the lobby so I could hear ever conversation from the front desk. Supposedly the front desk usually warns customers about the noise in my room. However, we were given no such warning, only the keys. If you want to stay here, I suggest the you ask what room and the noise level or get one of the cottages, which some are pet friendly. Overall, everything was great and I would have given a higher rating if it wasn’t for the noise and lack of sleep.

We are sorry to hear we did not exceed all of your expectations and that you were disturbed by noise during your stay. The rooms by the lobby are our most economical rooms and we do try to let guest know when making a reservation directly with us that the location of the room is on a busy hallway and added noise can be an issue especially on weekend stays. Since your stay was during one of our busiest months, we may not have had a different room available to offer you. Since you did enjoy the motel otherwise, we would love to have you return and try one of our other rooms in a better location for you or one of our cottages.

My husband and I have stayed at the Port Inn in Port St. Joe, FL, several times over the past several years, and we love it. It is a cozy, laid back stay, great for fisherman and a short drive to Mexico Beach or Cape San Blas for those wishing to visit area beaches. The staff is friendly and personable and are willing to accommodate guests in any way they can. A continental breakfast is complimentary for guests, and The Thirsty Goat is a local bar that is attached to the Inn, so having a drink in the evenings is very convenient. Just a warning that the bar hosts live music a few nights a week, and some of the music can be quite loud but is usually finished by 11:00 or 11:30 PM (thankfully). We usually stay in room 98 if available... it is a separate two bedroom unit behind the Inn and pool. We love having the extra space as well as a full kitchen... very convenient, and watching all the Inn's chickens run around the property is quite entertaining. The Port Inn is also walking distance to almost everything including a bank and grocery store and is adjacent to the historic area, home to very good restaurants and great gift shops. It is also a very short walk across the street to the bay where you can watch the sun set from the gazebo/lighthouse area. Quite pretty. We highly recommend Port Inn for your stay in Port St. Joe.

Where does a person start to tell you how GREAT a place can be. My wife and myself have been coming to this area for about 20 years decided to stay at the Port Inn for the first time. What an awesome place to be we had the best room over looking the bay and downtown the staff at the Inn were all so nice always asking is everything good they made us feel so important even the maintenance person ask was there anything we needed. This Inn is so clean and our room words cannot describe how nice it was and if you choose to stay make sure to try the Thirsty Goat for a early evening Cocktail.

Cozy and clean. Rooms are very small...one to two people max. Pool was too warm to enjoy. Continental breakfast sufficient but exactly the same each day. Front staff very friendly. No elevator for second floor. Very convenient location.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We have wide variety of room types, some even have separate living rooms and we have two bedroom cottages. They are great if you are spending more time in your room. Sorry to hear that the pool was too warm to enjoy, the Florida sun in quite intense this time of year. We hope you will return and maybe try a larger room, we'll throw some ice in the pool for you. :)

Spent 3 nites here in late June, first floor king sized bed. Mini fridge was in the room, along with complimentary bottled water and a keurig with a few complimentary pods. Didn't really need it, since fresh coffee and decaf were available in the lobby/foyer.
Live music all 3 nites at the Thirsty Goat portion of the bldg.
The hotel has two heated pools, one by the cottages on the side street, and one behind the main bldg.
I definitely found the folks who run the place very accomodating, very involved in the day to day operations.
One suggestion, maybe investigate more sound proofing between the floors, as the people in the room above us were VERY noisy. On Friday night, the late people leaving the bar sounded like an argument.., not quite sure how to alleviate that part of the noise issue.
Would definitely like to stay here again, as the hotel was well within walking distance to restaurants, shops, grocery store, banks etc.
